Losing FAT

I have been very inactive the past few years and it has taken a toll on me. I am 5'-7" 215lbs. I want to get back in shape but I need to lose fat around my stomach(beer gut). I have tried a few diets and none of them seem to work, so I am coming to where I have been told the best in the businees are.

So someone give me some ideas on what I need to do to lose my gut. Diet and workout regimen would be nice if possible.

If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

but a good diet + cardio + weights + fat burners will help you lose weight
 
STRACER - Anthrax gave you the ultra-condensed answer! What you're actually asking for is a personal training/sports nutritionist consultation. If you're self-motivated here's my advice: read read read, then action action action! There's tons of info out there. (If you're not so self motivated hire a personal trainer! I'm not tryin to be a smart ass.)

A great way to start is buy the body for life book, and follow it for 3 months, at least this way you will learn a little, get in a routine, start eating right. You will se fat melt off and muscle gained pretty good for a couple months then it all slows down, then you can back to the forum and start changing things up, at least thats what i did, im just finishing up my 3 months this weekend, dropped 20 pounds weight (probably around 30 pounds fat) waist down 4 inches, arms up 1 1/2, by the way im in thepeg

Do some cardio, and keep your caloric intake under 2000kcal. If you can try CKD. You may add some thermo add.

Add ALA to your diet

Hey there,
I have just recently started up a training regime myself and have been experiencing good results. I started 3 weeks ago and have been on ALA (alpha Lipoic Acid - do a search on it) for the last two weeks. I have already lost 7 pounds in the last 3 weeks and have gained some muscle too (I can see the muscle adding just by looking at the mirror and in my strength gains in my training). Do a search on ALA and read up on it...it's good stuff, and it's working very well for me so far!

PS - I'm taking 1000mg of ALA a day spaced out in 4 doses of 250mg with each meal.
Other supplements in my diet are: Flax Seed Oil (2 tablespoons a day); Protein shake (1 time after a work out); multi-vitamin.
