I'd suggest a rescue dog...give a homeless dog a home.

I've had a Siberian Husky and he was a superb dog that I loved dearly. I'd still strongly recommend a black or brown or yellow lab. They are almost human.

Huskies are very poor watchdogs, they will bring a flashlight to a burglar. Do poorly with summer heat and shed a great deal.

I have 2 English Bulldogs and they are the greatest. They are high maintenance and need to be kept inside though. They'll be more like children than pets.

What ? Labs will lick and tail wag the burglar to death after giving him a tour of the house...

Huskies will wake you up at 2am howling like a wolf..

Yes, German Shepherds are the best combo of Strong, Loyal, Intelligent and Obedient dogs IN GENERAL.... IMO

Labs, Goldens are the best Smart, Family, people friendly dogs and can still be a bit protective(at least barking at strangers)

Huskies, Malmutes etc can be a bit high strung and neurotic
