Long term gultamine use

How common is daily glutimine supplement intake? And at what doses? I generally take ~20g 4 days a week, but am concerned that maybe I should only use it during serious bulking or very restrictive dieting (or when sick). I have heard murmurs of possible health issues through constant supplementation. Any thoughts?
 
some people take 40-50 daily. i havent heard of any health problems. its very common and works very well
 
I remember coming across something here on Elite actually, but cannot find the post and don't remember the details. There was also an article by Dr. Russell Blaylock that excess glutamine through supplementation is converted into the excitotoxin glutamate within neurons, along with other suppositions. Like every other claim about sports supplementation, there are counter arguments of course. I was just curious if anyone had info on any evidence of possible detrimental effects.
 
i didnt think it was possible to get any bad effects from glutamine. Being an amino acid, the body is able to get rid of it if it is not needed thru the urea cycle and things like that. So i dont see how it would be a problem
 
try EnerG at AF store its the most eefective version of glutamine


as far as "side effects"

when you first start taking it it can cause an ammonia type smell

its an expeller of cytoxins

and an expeller of ammonia
