Explain what it is to us.. I already know I don't believe it, but I am interested in the exact definition.

My G'ma was pretty psychic. We would be out to eat and she would say "Someone is going to pull up in a gray car and she will be wearing a blue dress" And it would happen.
I was young and thought she was loopy, but when she got dementia, her predictions got even more accurate.
Won't get into details about how she died, but I'll only say it was INSANE!

It would be nice to have those powers I guess, I just do not think it is possible. Everyone has their thing they're into. I don't expect everyone to understand me or my music etc.
A medium to me means a shirt that is too small, or that someone is talking to someone else through someone. That to me seems pretty damn impossible and that is why I don't believe it. I do not know for a fact I am right or not. I just don't believe in it like I don't believe in the New York Knicks, lol. But maybe I am wrong..

I think it's possible but I don't think the long island medium is for real. Wasn't there a recent episode where she was in a chinese resturant and said to a chinese person working there I sense you have family in china still LMAO no shit I could guessed that too.

I'm very spiritual so I am a huge believer in energy, spirits and things we just cannot see. Not sure who this woman is on the show. She seems legit, but it is on TV.
Like I said, I grew up with a G'ma who was always blurting out these "psychic" things and my sisters and I would freak.
My oldest sister is pretty hardened to this world and it a huge skeptic, but believes in the "spirit world" as well.
Don't know, just wanted to see what others thought.
My friend are 50/50 for or against it.
I didn't see the "Do you have family in China" episode. Wow! hahha!

When I was like 10, my father would tell my sister and I ghost stories in a dark room. Once he started say out in a loud voice, "If there really is a satan, let him show himself now."
At the same time, little catholic dj was praying silently but furiously, "oh God, please don't let him come." over and over.
Satan never showed up; so either the whole Satan thing is bullshit or God listens to the prayers of 10-year-old boys.

I love trolling my husband, I tell him I dont believe in dinosaurs and he gets so mad and starts spitting out facts so I tell him it's inaccurate and stupid how they assign them colors and textures and you see videos of the way they behaved and sounds they made based on their damn bones, then he REALLY starts giving me science facts and shit, I really dont give a fuck about dinosaurs I just love watching him get worked up over it

Mediums ... honestly, I'm on the fence. I watched the show a few times, too, and I've seen her say things that seemed so completely out of left field that I was like "hmmm," and then I've seen her say things that definitely fell into the category of what I would consider "fishing."
I have problems with the whole concept of mediumship. I believe in psychics and have seen/experienced some truly bizarre things -- I can say without a doubt someone else knew a detail of what I was thinking (or about to experience). I've also had that experience personally (technically what I've experienced was called clairsentience) so I can't say with 100% certainty that mediums aren't just picking up on information they collect from the minds of the sitters and then using that information to construct a "message" from the deceased *shrug* For many people the difference is academic, psychic BS is psychic BS however you package it, that's their reality, I live in mine and in my reality psychic shit happens because science doesn't currently happen to have a convenient explanation for it.
The idea of a dead person's soul hanging around, sometimes for decades, just waiting to say "Hi" doesn't fit into my cosmology. While I won't dismiss it, I have reservations until I have a direct experience or better information.
From personal experience, if a deceased loved one wants to get in touch with you they can usually manage on their own if you're open to the experience.

I have heard a lot of people that claim to have experienced psychic phenomenon have been intuitive feelers. INFJs in particular. Could be that certain people are able to perceive things that others cannot. I do not believe in ghosts; I am comfortable totally dismissing the idea. Lol.
Some people are able to delude themselves into "perceiving" things that aren't there.

Ok, I was reluctant to share this, but one night I was woken up by someone in my bedroom. I thought I was dreaming. It was an older man dressed in a brown suit. He told me to get up and talk to him. I was frozen in fear! I punched my arm to see if I was awake
He told me all about the afterlife, talked to me about his kids and who he was. He told me how he died. I sat there listen to him not able to breath.
He then had a branding iron and lifted my arm and branded these initial in my arm and said "my name is Sam Knoll, sleep well"
Slowly I backed up, went into my bed and fell asleep.
Next morning I woke up not know if it was a dream or real. Took my pj's off to take a shower and this was on my arm

I've run into a few "ghosts" in my time. Not the "conscious" kind, those are supposed to be quite rare, but the "psychic photograph" kind. If you're sensitive to that type of energy -- a lot of which has to do with energy lines of the Earth, the construction material of the structure, a moment of emotional impact -- you notice that sort of stuff. Doesn't change the fact you think someone is standing behind you staring at you. Damned odd feeling.
I put psychism in the same category as any other native skill, art, music, athletic ability, extremely sharp eyesight or unusual sense of taste and smell. It's just something that can't be easily tested and quantified, impacted by external energies and even the psychic's own emotions and state of health.

I'm incredibly intuitive about illness and amazing with body language to know whats on a persons mind..but its because somewhere along the way my brain decided these were impotant pathways to pay attention to
Also, the human brain fills in what your eyes miss...all day everyday all the time..so I think perceptions of things being there are your brain scrambling the info a little

Ah, the logical world of empirical science strikes again! See, that's the problem with psychic abilities. Like any other latent talent a child displays/experiences they can either be fostered or abandoned. If you yourself or adults around you keep saying "you're just being silly" "you're letting your imagination run away with you" enough times, you stop hearing that "small still voice." If you happen to listen to and act on your intuition then you have a tendency to keep listening. It kind of makes sense if you think about it and the way children's brains develop with the massive development and then eventual paring down of neural connections that go unused.
Said another way, we are not just our bodies and our brains, we are spirit having a human experience. Spirit is divine energy and all spiritual energy is connected. What else what Jesus working with when he performed his miracles?
I don't think I really had psychic abilities...but just strange stuff idk; I can't believe I'm going to admit this but since you said small still voice I have to. When I was very young, if I approached my thoughts a certain way I able to "think" I had access what I "thought" at the time to be my "adult" self. This self had adult reasoning, an adult voice and just an over all maturity that I could not have had at that age and I understood that to be the case, I knew there was no way I would have that voice, yet it was still me. I always got the "vibe" that it was my older self trying to tell me time wasn't what I thought it was, like it was all instantly happening at once and if I just thought hard enough my older self could tell me what was going to happen! Lol! Sometimes I got the vibe that I had lived before but most of the time I got the vibe I could tried hard enough there was a way to talk to future me. The problem was that I couldn't hold on to it long enough; thinking about it directly caused me to lose it. I understood that this person was me, but wasn't me, but still was "me". Crazy imagination? Lol. Depending on who you're talking to would determine exactly what I was actually doing. I find the explanation that I was able to separate, enable, disable and categorize any subselves at such a young age a little hard to believe or why I would even have subselves. Maybe that is the only time we are able to access our "True" selves without so much clutter in the way. Who knows.
Substitute the phrase "higher self" in place of "adult self" maybe those experiences make more sense

In the Eastern and many of the mystical traditions it's accepted that we have not only a physical body but an energetic one (several, in fact, depending on who you're reading). It's one facet of the energetic body that is being worked on, for example, with acupuncture. Yoga is a not just about body and stretching but also balancing and utilizing the body's energy fields. Meditation is a way to consciously calm the physical mind so better to hear the higher self. It's said that prayer is speaking to God but meditation is listening to Him.

I've said it before, nothing I post on these forums is contrived. No reason to be. I think lying on internet forums is just plain dumb.
I've had many of what would be considered paranormal experiences. I don't consider them "paranormal" though, they're just part of the experience. If it's life, if it's an experience, it's normal, we just don't currently have convenient categories.
