so i'm watching the news and they flash a pic of this fellow. i say to myself, "hmmm, that looks like Tyrone" and no sooner do i finish that thought they say: "Tyrone ------ is wanted for blah-blah-attempted murder, blah-blah. i went to school with this knucklehead. i can't fuckin' believe he's gonna miss the reunion now.......

lol...funny you say this. My wife is a teacher for the 7th grade and she can pick out the kids who will either wind up in jail or will be dead by the time they reach adulthood.

She has been pretty good at nailing the ones who will be in that category.

She goes through the local paper and the police reports listed in the paper every week.

i went to an urban HS, i can't count how many people are dead and in jail that i went to school with. my science lab partner blew his moms head off with a shotgun......gatdang. it's like watching those little turtles scurry for the surf.......

Not satisfaction. I think she can just recognize the ones who won't amount to much in life and become burdens to our society. She has been fortunate enough to change some of these kids lives and get them going in the right direction and then there are some that will never give her a chance.

She's been teaching for 23 years so she has seen a lot.

Each year, about this time of year, she will receive many cards and letters from former students expressing their gratitude for the difference she made in their lives.

There is not enough words to express what that means to her.

no, it was like this huge shock. i think everyone in that school grew up that week. he was looking at me cuz i couldn't finish our project. on account my partner killed his mom. i bet that was the first time he had to hear that as an excuse.

I'm sorry. If it makes you feel any better, my brother blew his own head off and splattered his brains all over his fiance. I cleaned the brains and blood off of her, but could never get it out of the carpet. I didn't sleep for a month, because I had bad dreams.

I find relief in humor, even if it's bad humor.
