Living at home with ma and pa

I will be coming home from college and will be living at home for a little bit, but they want to charge me rent, like $150 a month, WTF? I might as well just get an apartment right off the bat. I could see if my parents were hurting for money or i cost them alot, but I buy my own food and will probably not even be there that much.

You're right, you SHOULD get your own apartment. Wait a minute, for a decent apartment, you're going to pay at least $500 per month just for rent, then there's utilities, cable, phone... Wait a minute, that sounds like a lot of money....

Are you seriously THAT ungrateful that you bitch about them letting you live in thier house for such a pittance??? There are many other expenses that I didn't list that come with having your own place, Laundry, etc... which I'm sure you will not have to pay extra for while you're paying the all-inclusive $150 per month.

One more thing, did they pay for your college???? Just wondering...

I paid with student loans. I wouldnt mind paying rent, but $150 seems a little steep. I dont know anyone that pays that much rent to live at home. I know what it costs to get apartment.

$150 is cheap, just because it's your parents makes you think it isn't.

I stayed at my parents house during a couple of my college summers while working and I paid them $50 a week to help cover room and board. You will probably eat $150 worth of food a month and even if you don't there is no where else in the world that you can live for that amount.

A month ago I was forced to move back in with the 'rents. They have not asked for a dime. But I have offered because I feel bad for them. And because of the fact that they are here for me when I truely need them most.
