liver values - a concern?

this is not from AAS use. i've never used...yet. anyway, i still posted here since i figured you all would be familiar with the values and what to worry about.

i found out last fri that i had mono. i had been sick for about 2 weeks before i was diagnosed. i went in fri to have an abdominal exam and blood work. well either my AST or ALT is high (101). to be honest i can't remember which the doc said (i think it was ALT), but she said it indicates liver inflammationi. the doc didn't say anything about the other, so i assume it is ok.

anyway, i know these values can be raised due to training. but with being sick, i was out of the gym almost 2 weeks. thurs night i hit legs for the first time since i had gotten sick, and it was brutal. i wouldn't think one night of training would raise it like that, but with having mono i don't know. i was hoping you guys could help me out on that.

my biggest concern is that i am going on spring break in 4 days (gotta go now - nonrefundable), and i don't want to risk permanent liver damage by overdoing it on the alcohol. but i would like to do some partying too.

do you guys think i have anything to worry about with that value being high?

the doc took some more blood and is doing a comprehensive metabolic panel to check some other things out too. she didn't say either way on the alcohol yet, but she does feel there is inflammation going on, and had said before i shouldn't drink if that is the case.

mono just doesnt go away in 2 weeks buddy

i know man. talk about shitty timing for me. but not going on break isn't an option, no only because i've waited 4 years for this trip, but also cause i can't get my money back now. so mono or not, i'm going to the beach. whether i can drink.....well i guess i have to wait and see what the other blood test shows.

Oral administration of Penicilin has been known to increase liver values.

Was the blood test administered in accordance with the Penicilin prescription
or was it taken for another reason?

well i was given penicillin by one of the PA's at student health cause she thought it may be a strep infection.

i went back a week later since some of the symptoms weren't going away even with the penicillin. she drew blood to test for mono.

when she called me and told me i had mono, i was told to go in and have blood work done.

so some other PA did the blood work.

basically i took penicillin for no reason due to a misdiagnosis by the PA. i don't even know if the other lady knew i was on penicillin at the time (not sure things run real smoothly at student health), and i didn't think to ask about that today when she gave me the blood test results.

so they were both for the same reason, but that doesn't guarantee the second PA knew about the penicillin. i would hope she would've went through my records from the previous 2 visits, but who the hell knows.

fuck penicilin. dont drink regardless, its not a good idea.

i had mono in high school, its in the body for 9 months and active for 6. if im not mistaken

So your going to go on Spring Break and possibly get people sick? Not to mention that your liver values are high without knowing if it is Pencillian which is a possible cause or something else causing it and doing possibly more damage? Shit happens sometimes that is life, but if I were you I would suck it up and wait till next spring break. NOT to come off sounding like a dick or anything but seriously think about your health right now. Much more important then spring break.
