If you want to dissolve a substance in a solvent (alcohol in this case) without concern for evaporation, the ideal method would be to use a flat bottom conical flask (erlenmeyer) with a tapered, ground glass joint immersed in a aluminium (non-ferrous) pot on a hot plate / magnetic stirrer with the stir bar in the conical flask with your substance and the solvent. Place a reflux still (condenser) with matching ground glass joint onto the conical flask and use a small water pump connected with tubing to the condenser -- pumping ice water. The water bath will prevent the temperature from rising significantly and the reflux still will cause any evaporated solvent to condense and fall back into the flask. This continual movement of the solvent when combined with a magnetic stir bar (white ptfe covered) will be highly effective and prevent _any_ evaporation of the solvent. It can be somewhat difficult to find reflux condensers depending on glassware laws for the country you reside in...
