I'm applying for a job there. I'd like to know what the city is like. Anyone here live there or near there?

How's the night life? Is there an artsy district? What's the political climate (conservative, liberal, etc.)? What's the cost of living like?

I was trapped in Paducah for 3 days attending Ingersol and Rand air compressor school. They have a training center in a hotel on the river, the hotel with the Silver Saddle Saloon in it. The airport was classic. I made their day when I, the suspicious looking charactor that I am, refused to check my bag and carried it on. They thought that I was "smuggling contraband" after xraying my bag. The contraband they found was my dirty socks and underwear. I hope they can still smell it on their hands. Anyway
I did venture out to a go-go bar, forget the name but the bouncer didn't like my "NY attitude" too bad for him. Nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.
