Im curious to what others are doing in terms of a silky smooth face.

I personally used cartidges until about 6 months ago when I made the switch to straight shave, and the difference is night and day,my skin looks better,I dont have to shave every day because its a much better shave to begin with.

very little to no irritation, I use a disposible straight so I get twenty blades for 4 dollars.

I still use a cartridge once or twice a week because a straight shave takes about a half hour by the time you prep the skin etc,so I usually save that for a day off and I really enjoy the experience.

Mach 3 turbo for me. My papaw still uses a straight razor. Never used one myself. Shaving sucks I've just gotten used to it.

LOLZ @ fucking disposable, what idiot wud shave wit dat shit?

I bought a bag of Bic razors wit 20 in it, I'll be dead before I use all of dem.

I use to use the triple blade cartridge but irritaes my face back to a single blade and I have,a shave gel from "the real shaving co." That heats up when u apply to wet face, smoothest shave yet zero irritation

it's way better than the previous ones. doesn't feel like it's pulling, and i have incredibly thick facial hair. worked nice on my head too when i was shaving it

they just released a newer one, has a trimmer with multiple attachments

Mach 3 turbo here, occasionally I will use an electric when I'm feelin lazy

Nan, since when are you a fuckin gentlemen.

I use a late 1940's era straight razor, or a Schick Hydro 5 if I'm pressed for time. There is absolutely NOTHING like the shave from a a top quality German straight razor, strop, and hone!

thats what im talking about man, I cant wait to upgrade from the shavettes to a real straight. these damn things arent forgiving at all,I cut the hell out of my face learning.

even when I use my fusion cartridge I still use my shave soap or oil and get less irritation but the shave sucks and by the next morning im beastly again

Absolutely! I always use a nice badger hair brush, Truefitt & Hill pre-shave oil, and Truefitt & Hill 1805 shave soap (although I do like West Indian Limes as well). While pricey, I just love their products.

I want to upgrade to a badger brush too,Im using boar right now which isnt terrible and I like the scrub I get,but it smells like a boars ass when wet.

Ill look into those soaps once mine is done.

I shave with the Bic disposables. I've tried almost every method of shaving, and those give me the best shave by far, with no irritation. I even tried safety razor wetshaving, and even though I built up that skill, it was still extremely easy to irritate my skin with it.

I have an incredibly thick beard, and those Mach 3/4/5/6 razors are terrible for my beard, because the whiskers are so close together they get caught in-between the multiple blades.

I could probably get a closer shave with the safety razor, but it would take three times longer and simply wasn't worth it. I can get something 05% as good and only takes me a fe wminutes with the disposable.

Im learning it is all about prep before the blade even touches your face, that is the key to no irritation.

Ive got it almost down to a science so even the fusion really doesnt give me irritation anymore, even shaving against the grain and across, I just straight shave because its so much closer.

almost takes the same time once prep is done and a good after shave treatment

whats your prep like. i always get crazy irratation.

I use a hot towel and give it a few mins until the towel starts to cool. then I use proraso shave soap for sensitive skin, it has tea tree oil in it, and I apply it with a boar hair brush, really gets the hair clean and stands it up. then your ready for the shave, I do short passes with the razor(when using a cartridge) cleaning the razor before hand(ie two small swipes just to go from sideburn to jawline)

after I rinse then put the soap back on and leave it for 10 mins, you feel the tea tree oil working. rinse then nivea sensitive skin after shave.

all that stuff can be bought at shoppers. for 25$ tops

thanks dude, i have to shave daily for work for safety requirements and some days it gets right gnarly looking. was swingin by shoppers anyways so ill check that out

let's jam a lighted sparkaler up your ass and see if if still burns
jesus
creamed peas in a jar

I use a Fusion or a Mach3 'cause I can't be arsed with prep work, but a cheap disposable works fine if I shave right after a shower as the bristles are all soft etc.
