Let's talk about Raw...

From IOWRESTLING

According to a recent radio interview with Ric Flair, Flair wasn't contacted by the WWF until November 9th and didn't even have a contract until Monday afternoon. Flair also expressed an interest to wrestle The Rock, Steve Austin and Kurt Angle.

I read that also. I thought that quite interesting. Flair is my all time fave, but I don't want to see him wrestle again.

Why are the alliance guys all still on TV? Weren't they supposed to have been fired?
Yes, but expect to see a few brought back in by Flair. There is supposed to be a mass firing the beginning of the year.

I agree. He should stay out of the ring and maintain the level of class he's always had. If he wrestles for the WWF, young viewers won't know who the hell he is and longtime fans will lose respect for him.

Very well said. I agree with you 100%.
Who thinks HHH will be back tonight? I'm not to sure.

gymtime said:
I think they'll wait 'til the next PPV to bring him back. I wanna see Benoit back too.
I'm thinking Benoit is suppoed to be back in Feb. or March. Or that could have been when he is allowed to start training again. One of the two.

i hope hhh comes back tonight, but since vinny mac has a way of dissapointing me lately... i doubt it.

Soon. I hear they plan to center a lot of the hype around the next PPV around him. They need to get a storyline going.

Damn!! I thought RVd would flip to the wwf.

Im not gonna see it tonight. Austin should kill Regal, remember about a 6 months ago when Austin put him in the hospital by bashing his head in with a steal pipe and ramming him with a truck? That was pretty cool, Austin as a face has always been my favorite, he does crazy ass shit

Benoit is still atleast 3 months out. A HHH return is slated for mid-december, but since he is goin to be the main attraction at the next payperview he may play a small role in the TV shows leading up to the PPV.

I wanna see a long fued between Angle and Benoit. THe best technical wrestlers, handsdown.

I remember that. I wondered why Regal was getting such a huge push after being a mid-carder in the WCW. He was fighting Austin within a couple months of his arrival in the WWF. It didn't look right.

i think they changed the austin match and now he is gonna go up againts test... unless they changed it back already

Whatever happens tonight they better not talk the whole damn time. I hate that shit.

In some wierd way I like Regal, but he's going to get punked out big time. Kick to the stomach... stunner.... and that's it. Austin will probably get jumped by a bunch of ex-alliance guys (as usual).

They need to bring back Hurricane Helms.

Freak Daddy - I think maybe they're trying to build some kind of fued with the Undertaker and Angle, to see who can win Vinnie Mac's favor. Just a guess.

I see something building with Vinnie Mac and The Undertaker. I see this to be an interesting angle.

You know that Vinnie and the Taker wanted to flip Taker to the alliance. Heyman and the other creative folks talked them out of it. It would be an interesting angle.

So how much longer you guys think the Undertaker has? He's got himself into some decent shape lately and is doing some new things in the ring. But he's been around a while now, a lot longer than the ten years in the WWF. Anyone remember him as Mean Mark in the WCW? Managed by Paul E.?

I about shit when I read that Corn. Undertaker is WWF. Kind of like Sting was in WCW. I see Vinnie and Taker forming an alliance.

Mean Mark Callous. Remember when him and Sid or was it Dan Spivey were the Skyscrapers?

Spivey first, when they were both no-names. Not that Spivey ever became much of anything. Sid replaced him later, if memory serves.

Who are the only BIG-name WWF'ers who have been with the WWF only:

Rock
Angle

2nd tier:
Edge
Test

Lotta talent that WCW let get away, huh??

freak daddy said:

You and Gymtime both are correct.
Who was Doink?
?

Doink the Clown? Don't know who he was before. Was brought in as a heel, ended up as a huge face. He was around the Koko B. Ware, Million Dollar Man time.

Matt Borne, one of the biggest black marks in the business.

Wasn't the fake Diesel kane?

Get the hell out!! Doink was Matt Bourne? What was his last gig, Big Josh in the WCW?
You are correct. Then once his coke habit took over and burning bridges with eveyone, he started an orginization in the Pacific North.

I did not know that. I remember when he started out in Portland, Or. He was there when Piper, Snuka, and Valentine were headlining. Damn, who's old now Saint?

At one time Portland was one of the biggest hot beds for Wrestling. There has been alot of great talents come from that region.

With the exception of Piper of course.

Piper has produced alot of great moments in Wrestling. He could'nt wrestle but his charisma and mic skills put him over.

Totally. He was all personality. Hell, even Hogan was a better wrestler. But his last years, especially that WCW/NWO stint was embarrassing.

I agree. He did embaress himself. I loved him when he fueded with Flair and Valentine in the early 80s.

How the fuck did I miss this thread?

Damnit, people...

The "fake" or "New" Razor Ramon was Rick Bodger.

Jeez... a wrestling thread and I wasn't even invited.

Fuckers.

Believe it or not, Piper has a part in the XWF promotion owned by Universal Studios.

Other old guys involved.... Hogan, Nasty Boys, Greg "the Hammer" Valentine, Bobby Heenan, Tony Shiavonne (sp?).... wow... sounds exciting.

And you guys had better not dog on Hogan... if it wasn't for him, wrestling wouldn't be here. NO ONE CAN DENY THAT, DAMNIT! :splat:

Ok, you can bust on me, or my family, but don't you ever bust on S.D. "Special Delivery" Jones!!!

Anyone remember what his finishing move was?

Splash in the corner???

When are they going to start airing. Hail is a very good friend of mine. He will be their champ very soon. 6'8", 360 of solid muscle. I just ran into Hail and Hart in Vegas.

The Nature Boy said:

LOL. Wrong. It was everyones favorite move, the small package. Get it, he was like a delivery guy. And I guess he delivered small packages, for a 2 count.
LOL! How the hell did I forget that one.

Hail is your FRIEND!??!!?

DAMN!!

They haven't announced when they will start to show on TV. They've taped around 6 hours of TV time already. Over a 2 or 3 day period.

Hogan only wrestled once... and isn't under contract with them. Some speculate it's because he still wants a non-wrestling role in the WWF.

you guys can talk about your dream matchups, like Flair vs. Hogan. But myself, my dream matchup would have been S.D. Jones vs. Rocky King. Now that's what I'm talking about.

Hail worked my front door security in Clearewater. I used to go hang out with him at a strip club he used to bounce at. He got tons of pussy. He sent me a bunch of autographed pics when he was in WCW. He is cool as hell.

I'd like to see Ken Shamrock back to face both of them in a series of triple threat matches.

Shit I remember him as Mark Hartman with Scandor Akbar (sp?), he had the "heart punch" for his finishing move. I think that was Mid-South or Universal Wrestling I forget.

Now Jim Duggan and Tatanka are involved now as well.

Those are some big names, but how can the actual product be any good? They all passed their primes years ago.

That and supposedly he made a bunch of ridiculous demands to them like he did in WCW.

There is alot of young talent also. Hail will more than likely get the biggest push of the young guys. Josh from Tough Enough, and there is more.

That's right... I forgot to mention Hacksaw, and I wasn't aware that Tatanka was a part of it. That's unfortunate. David Pinzer, the old WCW ring announcer is also involved.

Pretty much any reject the WCW, ECW, or WWF has to offer will be there.

And yes... they are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY passed their prime.

And hurry up, Nature Boy... the time's ticking....

gymtime said:
OK, refresh my memory. Who is Hail?
He wrestlked in WCW. He was on Sat. night on TBS. He was on this huge winning streak when Sullivan was booking matches. He annihilated everyone. Jimmy Hart was his Manager and still is. When Bischoff come back he let Hail go on a paid vacation.

gymtime said:

I would think there using the big names to kick start the XWF while trying to develop the younger talent. Hopefully some of the big names will put over the future main event talent.

Hell ya....some of Ken's last matches were great. Anyone remember the beating he gave Owen Hart? There was twice he tried to pull his punch and ended up smacking Owen in the nose....Owen was so pissed and you could tell.

I miss Owen. He was a great talent. He would'nt fit into the WWF product now. That tribute show to Owen the night after he died, I have on tape. I cried like a little girl.

Sorry, FreakDaddy... didn't see the question.

The man you ask of is Rocky "The Soulman" Johsnon. Also the father of Dwayne Johnson (The Rock).

I think his REAL name is Wayde Bowles

Kick ass! Who did Johnson wrestle in the finals of the T.V. title tournament? If he won the match he said he would unmask himself. Of course he won.
You seemed surprised when I told you I knew Hail???

I'm going to go on a limb and say Greg Valentine. Though I'm not too sure.

Well yeah, I was surprised when you said you knew Hail.

The man is a monster. I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY DIDN'T GIVE HIM BETTER TV TIME!

He's badass lookin'... and I think he should be given a chance to prove himself. People could get behind him.... I sure did.

You're right... HHH was emotional as well.

I think Jeff Jarrett gave the best speech of the night, though. I got a bit teary eyed when he tried to talk through his tears. He was trying not to cry when he walked to the ring, and when he beat Test with the Sharpshooter.

Man... I'm going to have to go home and watch it.
