New US postal stamp celebrating the EID Muslim holiday season

Keep in mind these acts of terrorism:

Pan Am Flight 103
Trade Towers 1993
Marine barracks in Lebanon
Military Barracks in Saudi Arabia
American Embassies in Africa
USS Cole
9/11 attack on the Trade Towers

Sort of strange we would be honoring their religion.

Fuck that.

The ACLU can bitch all they want, but this country was founded on Christian values and the majority of folks are one form of christianity.

I dont even believe in God, but this is annoying.

Its not the entire religion that is corrupt bro... its small extremist factions.

It makes complete sense, especially in times like these. Right now, this group of people feel VERY segregated from a lot of the world and especially in areas in north america. A lot is being pinned on the general muslim population (many of whom are amazingly nice people) and I guess the americans I trying to make them feel more...I dunno, one with the rest of their nation. Besides, it aint saying much considering its a 37 cent STAMP. lol

As someone who hates religion as much as you do, I thought you would have come up with something better than that.

Oh believe me, I think religon is all a bunch of crap really.. BUT i see it as a need for many people.. seriously, without it some people just would NOT function..

Religion is cuturally determined for most people.. for example, you live in the US, you are christian, you live in the middle east you are muslim, you live in israel you are jewish.. you live in japan you are buddist... etc.

If we are going to celebrate one, we should celebrate all equally, or you are disrepecting the people who subscribe to one faith over another.

We celebrate so many christian based holidays and they have an extremely violent history as well.. i don't see any difference.

I find it interesting how you separate israel from the middle east

regionally.. its all the same.. but religously.. its different... different in the sense that its a different faith.. but judaism, especially in israel, is as hostile and volatile as islam in my opinion.

Again, its not everyone though, but the extremist factions.

I guess I should have asked for more direct thoughts concerning the postal service's decision to print these stamps in light of the tremendous loss of American lives attributed to the Muslim religion.

We can argue all day about religion and get nowhere.

To me, I think it was a bad decision by the postal service to print these up but that is just me.
