Lets Hear Some ALA and r-ALA UPDATES!!!

Well its september and i havent seen a thread like this in a little while.
READ THE RULES BEFORE YOU POST!!!
1. Lets NOT make this a debate thread, just results, no bickering like little girls!!
2. Tell us wheter you used R-ala or ALA (DONT ASK WHATS THE DIFFERENCE!! Theres only 1 guy who makes r-ALA and it says it REAL big on the bottle)
3. Tell us how long you used it, and how much per day.
4. Your age.
5. Any side effects, like good pumps, or lethargy etc.
6. IF YOU HAVENT TRIED ONE OF THESE DONT POST! THIS IS NOT A THREAD FOR QUESTIONS, DO A SEARCH!!!!!
7. Your Results!! Yipee!!

I'll go first :D

1. I used r-ALA, and posted my results in the past. I am on Racemic ALA form the Iceman right now.
2. Used for about 2 weeks, try to use 3g a day.
3. 19 year old male
4. ALA gives me lethargy after i eat, which is problematic for work sometimes, but i deal with it. It seems like lately its not as bad. Today was the first time i felt really good while in the gym and on ALA. Today was good because i moved up on chest workouts, i cant say if it was the ALA though.
5. Interestingly enough, i have lost 3 lbs. I say interesting because i started a job in a jewlrey store at the mall, and the only place to eat is the food court. So for the past 7 days i have been eating alot of fast food, i missed a workout day (grrrrr) b/c of work, and still lost the 3 lbs. Now lets see if it comes back, thats the real test.
BTW, iceman DAMN those are some horse pills you make! I used to be able to swallow 4 r-ala pills without water, but almost choked when i tried to take 2 pills with iced tea!
 
I've been alternating between ALA and r-ALA. My weight has crept up to 208 lbs... from a holding pattern of 205lbs... but without any gain in b/f. (My only guess for the increase in weight is an extract I'm using from Costa Rica called carao. Interesting stuff... but very little available info in English.) My strength is clearly at an all time high. I'm 43 and have just broken my PR deadlift a couple weeks ago by 20lbs... and then the next week repped that weight for 6 reps (three sets!) This really has my eyes open because as I've said before... at my age after a lifetime of lifting I don't expect to be setting any strenth records... especially since I am two months after a high fina/test cycle and SHOULD be seeing my strength pull back.

I'm in speculation mode as to what is causing the strength gains.

ALA - Gives better pumps, great for pumps when taken during training with carb shake. Making me fucking fat and pissing me the hell off about it too.

R-ala, not as good as pumps but leaned me out real well....I'll be ordering some r-ala again when I can afford it. :bawling:

I don't know...I may have to try the ala for 2 weeks and then the rala for 2 weeks and see if there is a difference. Right now, I've been taking 1000mg ala and 200mgs rala with every meal...

I've been doing on off comparisons. I like r-ALA better. No sides. But ALA gives you the effect for half the price... so it is apples and oranges.

If you can afford r-ALA it is the superior product. If you can't, ALA does the same job on the cheap.

I have to avoid ALA on business meeting days. I get dizzy and a little dopey. r-ALA actually seems to make me mentally sharper.

I also noticed that r-ALA dramatically improves my chess rating. ALA does not raise my chess score... it lowers it by 10-20 points... probably from the hypo effect.

Both products exhibit the water/air/clouds effect (too long to explain) which is a strong indicator that they can act as cognitive enhancers. More research needs to be done on that.
 
i agree with the hypo effect maybe making me a little slower in my classes. Anybody else gonna post their results? This was the biggest thing since sliced bread 2 months ago!
 
I've only used the ALA from beyond a century. I cap them and take a handful per day (about 4gms/day). I definitely feel more tired, but I am putting on weight more easily. The strength increase + pumps are nice.

I've been wondering why I've been tired lately!! So ALA causes you guys to feel tired throughout the day?
 
yea i have been like dead today, I cam home for dinner/laundry today and my parents are wondering why im in a shitty mood. I don't know if i can take this, i might stop for a bit and if i see myself geting fatter then i'll prob go back to r-ALA. If not, then it prob wasn't helping in the first place.

BTW, is there anything i can take to boost my energy? Caffine messes with your insulin so i dont want that, but is there any vitamin or supplement that would help?
 
Currently using regular ALA. About 300-600 mg per meal.I seem to be getting a much harder look and it's been over 3 weeks now since I finished my cycle and I have not lost any strenghth actually benched 285 today 1 rep than 4 more with help.Which isnt to badd for being 185 abs, and also isn't bad concidering during my cycle the most I benched was 170.Every once in a while I'll get some heartburn from the ALA but nothing to drastic.
 
Bouncer. How come you hate ALA so much? There are threads about ingrown hair and can I drink winny on this board right now for chrissake and you don't say a word. As soon as someone posts about ALA you start whinning about it like there is a quota on how many people are allowed to share their experiences with it. Don't click on these threads if you don't want to read them.

Scout420, Congrats on the strength gains. Nice work.
 
ive been taking ala for a few days..i know im nothing much to go by..but i think my abs are looking more defined..could this be possible ion such a short amount of time?

also..
for you guy who take it with every meal, does that mean u have carbs with every meal, or you just take it w every meal regardless of the contents?

my weight is pretty much the same, and ill get my bf% tested tomorrow..will tell u the results when they come in..

The shit works plain and simple! Besides, the supp forum (or almost ANY other forum on ELite) get's very low traffic.

eg; if there were only 3 carbs in a meal, would you take the ALA prior to the meal, and would you still take that ala if the carbs in the meal were vegetables..?
 
Well i just finished a cycle of Iceman's ALA. It feels weird not popping pills with all my meals, but its kinda refreshing. I have more energy now, and i think my workouts are better without it. As far as results i did loose 2-3lbs. Doesn't sound like much, but i started a new job at the mall during the cycle, and i had been eating alot of food court fast food for past couple weeks. My abs are coming in better, but in all fairness my abs had been slowly coming in even before ALA.
The REAL test is to watch close now and see if i gain any of the fat back without ALA or R-ala.
