about learning guitar...

its all personal preference, the main differences in guitar shape is usually the tone, also the action, thickness of the neck, etc.

most people I know start with a fender squire, but mostly because its cheap. if cost is no option I'd check out a les paul custom or an american made fender strat, they both have a different feel to them. Some people like a thin neck, others a thinner.

if you are just learning, i'd say get a nylon stringed acoustic, its cheap, easy to play, and if you can get good on an acoustic when you switch to electric it will seem a lot easier.

me too buddy

Take me as I am
Put your hand in mine now and forever
Darling here I stand, stand before you now
Deep inside I always knew
It was you, you and me
Two hearts drawn together bound by destiny
It was you and you for me
Every road leads to your door
Every step I take forever more

Chorus:
Just say youll love me for the rest of your life
I gotta lot of love and I dont want to let go
Will you still love me for the rest of my life?
cause I cant go on
No, I cant go on
I cant go on
If Im on my own

Take me as I am
Put your heart in mine, stay with me forever
cause I am just a man who never understood
I never had a thing to prove
Till there was you
You and me
Then it all came clear so suddenly
How close to you that I wanna be

Chorus

Bridge:
Do you believe a love could run so stong?
Do you believe a love could pass you by?
There was no special one for me
I was the lovely one, you see
But then my heart lost all control
Now youre all that I know

Chorus....

lol, guess the band

So everyone tells me to start with cheap guitar but if I know I want to play why buy a cheap one just to learn on and then have to go buy another one later that I want? Does that make any sense?

BTW my sis is in SD this week(with her boyfriend), what is going on that I should tell her to do?

well, once you learn how to play some stuff you can go to a guitar shop and jam on some higher end guitars and by then you'll really know what you like. a good guitar will make playing seem more effortless.

shit man, its San Diego, hit up the beach!! great weather this week.

sure, you can learn on any guitar really man, that is a nice one.

Mexico is dirty (at the border) and doesn't have much to offer, its fun for a couple hour novelty trip during the day, not much else.

Ya I've been. It is like any other shitty part of a foreign country for sure.

One time as kid I saw a PRS and have always wanted one. Maybe I'll buy it and put it on the wall and not take it down until I think I deserve to play it after learning on an acoustic.

Perk is still waiting for his naked pic with the guitar, do us a favor though and PM it to him.

stop with the guitar cost whoring...the cost means shit...its all in the fingers (see robert johnson)...I posted a blues song with a $50 guitar that made it to the top 10 on soundclick...

its like the golfer who sucks buying 1000 clubs...
