I know there are some places that will do them for free.

other clinics can charge up to $50 or more, but I wouldn't know.

I just go to my regular doctor when I need an STD test. I generally do that before starting to have unprotected sex. Usually when I date someone for a few months and we decide to be exclusive/monogamous, we'll both get tested before we stop using condoms (assuming she is on some sort of birth control).

I've only had unprotected sex with 4 people in my life bro, condoms fucking suck man but who wants to risk getting some shit you can never get rid of?

if you had blood drawn for a kidney analysis, you can have them take another vial of blood for the HIV test too, pretty simple to do. most insurance companies cover 100% of the lab work and assuming you had already paid for the office visit for the kidney stuff you wouldn't be out any more money.
