i read an article in muscle and fitness, a very brief article that said researchers have discovered RU486 as a very potent fat burner. it's ability to block catabolic hormones is what they said really makes this a potential fat fighter for obese people. many of you know it's the abortion pill well i guess now it can be put to some good use and save some lives.

now, let's discuss it. personally it sounds good on the surface but what are the contraindications and possible side effects? i think more research needs to be done before i can fully make a fair judgement.

Was that in this month's issue? This sounds completely crazy to me. I'm especially curious to find out what it does to a non-pregnant woman's body.

pixie, give me some time and i'll find it. i read it last night or the night before last. it's either in the arpil or may issue of muscle and fitness or it's in the 800 page muscle tech ad i mean musclemag. i'm curious to know more about it period.

oh, btw, i'm feeling better today(remember yesterday's post?). again thanks for caring. :)

Cool, Sushi! I just skimmed over an article about the hidden effects of Ru486, it does not say anything about effects on a non-pregnant woman. But I can't imagine that any fat-loss inducing capabilities it has would great outweigh the havoc wrecked on the body over a period of time. I would think that there would be a real high risk for infertility if this drug was taken over a period of time as well.

Of course I remember yesterday's post!! :) I'm glad you are feeling alot better. Hope it's not ALL drug-induced tho!!!! lol

On another note: i'm gonna go eat some sushi in a few hours...yummm!! It's been a few months!!

oh to be the sushi eaten. :)

i'm glad you found it i can't find it, lol.

it's not all drug induced though the meds do help. i think it's just one of those things where you have a bond or an understanding of the person even though you did'nt know them.

ru486 is an interesting compound. Besides being the only real progesterone blocker avaliable, it eliminates cortisol. While this can result is muscle sparing, cortisol is also responsible for killing pain. Manny78 used it, I believe. He said the pain was far worse than winny. Polarpixie, I'd suggest reading a lot before you decide to try it. Progesterone plays an important role in a woman's body, and I'd be REAL cautious taking it for an extended period (no pun intended).

I heard a source once say it destroys the immune system too, he was sick the whole time he tried it, recommended no one ever used it again. (at least males)
