just saw 3 minute news report from abc on steroids.
The House of Representative a meeting to discuss the growing use of steroids among teenages and sportsmen (& women).
They say that the side-effects include:
"terrible" acne
Heart Disease
Liver Dysfuntion
Depression
(take the acne thing away (how come we dont see pros with pustules all over) & this list sounds like ALCOHOL abuse to me!)
Then they show some 20 year old kid (lifting 135lbs from the rack and screaming with effort) and explain that he and his schoolmate used to take them. He says that he did not want to have to lift all day for 10 years and didn't want to "take" protein shakes.
Then some doctors say that it will instantly stop the growth of teens (maybe the only thing accurately portrayed in the report)
Finally it talks about the kid's friend who took steroids and then commited suicide - que the picture of an apple pie American kid in baseball uniform. As if the (tragically unfortunate) child was screwed up by the drugs and not by something else.
Then there is talk about the role model effect of sports stars and how they look healthy even though they may be using steroids.
I hate seeing this ignorant bullshit...
