late afternoon crash

this happens to me every day i hit the gym. i gotta find a way to minimize it, cause i'm home with the kids.

normal gym days i'll get up, have a cup of coffee or two, drink a shake, then head to the gym. after the workout, i'll have another shake, somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 caloires. i can do the same thing for breakfast without the crash result though. i know this for a fact because i was drinking high caloire shakes for breakfast almost all semester, somewhere about 2-3 hours preworkout.

anyway, for the next few weeks, after workout i'm going to class for an hour and 40 minutes, during which time i'll enjoy a big cup of coffee. then the trek to pick up the kids, then home, then eat again, lighter than the previous 2 meals, usually eggs. it's after that 3rd meal of the day that my body just wants to shut down and go to sleep, so i gotta drink some coffee to stay awake and alert for dealing with the kids, making dinner, etc, when i really need to be drinking more water.

what to do besides alternate cups of coffee with water? :coffee:
 
hmmm....my mid afternnon crash usually occurs after eating carbs at lunch.....i find that cutting the carbs, or using ala minimizes the crash....and coffee of course.

i have a feeling i'll be cutting the carbs back over the summer, or at least not shoving them in like i was over the winter/early spring.

coffee is good though...as soon as i chug this glass of water, time for another cum :coffee:
 
You may be experiencing an adrenal axis crash, used to happen to me back in the day. 'Dr.' Duchaine helped me out a lot with that....

Couple of questions: Are you doing any other stims? ECA? TRex? Clen?

What is your macronutrient breakdown by meal/times? you can PM with this stuff if you want...

diet - could be better i suppose. someone's gonna cringe over this one.....i've been using a weight gainer since January. this stuff is NOT fat loss friendly. 630 cal, 90 from fat; 101g carbs, 42g from sugars; 35g protein. what i was doing during last semester was 1/2 serving for breakfast, think i was adding 1/2 cu raw oatmeal as well, and post workout 1/2 serving gainer, 1 - 1 1/2 scoops whey, 1/2 cu raw oatmeal. i ran out of this stuff for about 2 weeks and my workouts went to shit. i'm not real big on actual food consumption in the morning, i can force it if need be, but a liquid breakfast works quite well. i'd drink up my above listed breakfast mix at around 9am and would be in the gym around 11 or 12, full of energy. when i ran out of this stuff, i went to a double serving cottage cheese for breakfast with some applesauce. i'd make it through classes, but i'd walk into the gym and be hungry as hell and barely able to lift.

i'm almost out of this stuff again, however. money is kinda tight at the moment, so i don't think i'm buying more. i figure i'll just go with raw oatmeal and whey shakes for a while. that gainer packed a bit too much fat on me the last time around anyway. i gained 15lbs between mid-january up to the end of April, lost 5lbs of fat at the end of the semester (and been so stressed the last month, not eating enough, and not in the gym enough that i lost another 5lbs :mad: ) on the plus, all my lifts did go up.

no other stimulants or anything AAS related. never cycled.

what i think i'm shooting for daily is 3-4 whey shakes, and i'm going to figure 2 of them with raw oatmeal, one pre, one post workout. other than that, mid afternoon eggs, reasonably decent dinner. my eating is never consistant with foods. cooked up an assload of chicken theighs/legs yesterday with the intent of eating 1 theigh/leg combo daily for protein. had 4 eggs with 1 piece toast when i got home today, bout 3 hours post workout. an hour later i was growling for food like a bear coming out of hibernation, so i dumped 1 scoop whey into a 22oz glass, loaded in some apple cinnamon cheerios, fill with milk, and it was pretty damn good actually. then the crash/burn started to set in, so i made a little coffee, then got dinner ready.

trying to go for a daily salad with 2 tbsp olive oil and some red wine vinegar. good stuff there.

i'm trying to lower late night carb intake. need to start eating tuna again. ok, my diet fucking sucks ass. only thing i got going for me is a reasonable metabolism. screw cheat days, i need a daily cheat or else i'll go nuts. i'm a somewhat picky eater, but i love to eat.

not feeling as bad today as yesterday. today's food intake...

9am - 1/2 serving gainer, 1 whey, 20oz 1% milk, :coffee:

1015-1110 - ball busting workout

1130ish - 2 servings whey, 1/2 cu raw oatmeal, prolly 24oz milk, :coffee:

230pm - 6 eggs, 2 pieces toast

not feeling the desire to "crash" as much today.

hungry yet once again....i think i hear leftover london broil calling me :p
