Latamier's Contest Pics....

Your back symetry is awesome Lat. Nice spread to on the lats.

You like incredible man. I'm no expert at all, but it does look like your legs are about 8 months of training behind the rest of your body.

Legs are definately behind due to a torn ACL. As far as my back goes, I owe it all to 15 years of swimming competitive, and butterfly being my favorite event.

awesome physique, hard work definetly has paid off here. Get the legs up and you are sure to place first next time. hats off to you bro.

I'll never feel big again...never.

Dont really know about the bench. I have recently changer all my workouts to include just the use of dumbells. Get a better stretch and pump that way. For me anyway.:)

cool, i don't bench anymore either, seems can get as big doing
movements that don't tear up the shoulders much

lookin real thick!!! back looks awesome....if the legs are lagging then maybe it is time to hit up the legs twice a week. the other pics look low quality i bet you looked much better in person. what were your stats and age for the show?

I'm now 30, 6'2" and weighed in around the 240 range. I have been bodybuilding for about ten years, but this was my first show. My legs are actually one of my stronger points, It's just that I've been plagued by injury and not able to work them like I should. I have always been gifted with a wide back, like I said before, that came from years of swimming butterfly competatively. Thanks for the comments guys. I may just decide to do another show to get some good shots of my legs.

Looks awesome! Just a thought -- you might check out some of the stuff on the PL board on here to get some more info on some basic leg movements & building them up. I know the ladies who are pursuing PL are making awesome improvements in strength and if you've been plagued by injuries on your legs, building up their strength & not just size might have some merit.

Otherwise -- hell I wouldn't complain if I could come home to that physique ;)

The legs were just off due to stupidity mostly. When I injured my ACL, I trained mostly upper body thinking my legs were big enough and would hold. They did loose a lot of their size, but considering I started working them only a few weeks before the show, I think they looked O.K.

I hope your secret to success wasn't Bull Semen......

Shit man rock on!

Shit I feel reallly small.........these meds are killin me.

All I can say is I have been there my self. I am my worst critic. I never thought I would have the guts to get up on stage, especially after an injury. I always thought I was too small. Well let me tell you, hard work pays off and there are a lot of guys smaller than you out there. If you want to do a show, but are afraid, do it anyway, you will get the bug after your first one. My legs are now in a growing stage waiting for the next show, which I am setting my goals to win. I was even told by two of the judges that if my legs were up to par I would have won that night. So watch out world, and bouncer, because Latamier is on your tail. HAHA.

YOU LOOK GREAT BRO HOW OLD ARE YOU?? THE ONLY CRITISIM I CAN GIVE IS THAT YOU COULD HAVE BEEN MORE DRY IN YOUR BACK AND LEGS BUT OTHER THEN THAT YOU LOOK GREAT EVEN THOSE DON'T LOOK BAD. DID YOU TAKE ANY DIERETICS?

I'm 30 bro, and yes I did take dieuretics. In fact, I started taking lasix, which I will never take again. If I would have stuck to a more typical routine, I would not have been holding as much water. Two days out of the show I ended up in the hospital because I was having such bad leg cramps. Turns out my potassium was DANGEROUSLY low, from the lasix. Only thing I can say is that I learned from my mistakes, will never use lasix again, and am preparing for another show after the first of the year. I am planning on having AT LEAST 12-15 lbs of extra shreaded muscle on me by show time. I'll post more pics as I take them. Thanks for you coment and criticism WIDELAT. Anybody else have any comments?

Looking very solid Lat. bummer on the Potassium burn. Bananas are your friend.

I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME THE DAY AFTER MY SHOW THOUGH I WAS PARALYZED THE DOC SAID IN HIS 30 YRS OF BEING A ER DOC HE NEVER SAW ANYONE HAVE AS LOW POTTASIUM LEVELS AND STILL ALIVE MY LEVELS WERE AT 1.4 I HAD A MILD HEARTATTACK AND ENDED UP IN ICU FOR 2 WEEKS THEY ALSO THOUGHT I WAS DIEABETIC CAUSE WHEN I WENT IN MY BLOODSUGAR WAS AT 400 NO DAMAGE DONE AT ALL BUT I WILL NEVER USE DIERETICS AGAIN AND MINE WAS DIEAZIDE FOR ANYONE WHO IS THINKING IT IS POTTASIUM SPARING IT IS NOT.

There is definately an art to playing with dieuretics at contest time. Loop dieuretics are definately BAD news.

I dont think any of the loop dieuretics are potassium sparing, are they? I would be interested in finding out more info on this.

Lasix belongs to the group of saluretics and to be exact is a "loop diuretic". Its effect consists of distinctly increased excretion of sodium, chloride, potassium, and water. A very important characteristic which must be absolutely monitored with loop diuretics is the reabsorbtion of potassium ions, sodium ions, and chloride ions. This causes a considerable disturbance of the electrolyte household. Due to its intense effect on water excretion Lasix is used for treatment of edema~ and high blood pressure. Bodybuilders use Lasix shortly before a competition to excrete excessive, mostly subcutaneous, water so that they appear hard, defined, and ripped to the bone when in the limelight. For this reason, athletes often use Lasix to lose weight and to compete in a lower weight class. Bodybuilders often use the injectable and intravenous (or IM) version the morning of the competition since it becomes immediately effective when the athlete, due to a more or less strongly remaining water film, begins to panic. This, however, can also produce the opposite effect. That is, the muscles become small and flat; the athlete loses vascularity, and has no pump during warm-up when during a very short time too much water and minerals are lost. It is thus possible that some pro or top amateur shortly before the beginning of a competition as a last countermeasure is seen with a bag of glucose solution being injected intravenously so that the blood volume rises again. In order to compensate for the potassium loss many athletes take potassium chloride tablets. This, however, involves a certain risk since an overdose of potassium can cause cardiac arrest. In our experience, Lasix is taken in the last two days before a competition.

Lasix is the strongest diuretic and the most dangerous compound in bodybuilders' arsenal of medicine. Side effects can include circulatory disturbances, dizziness, dehy-dration, muscle cramps, vomiting, circulatory collapse, diarrhea, and fainting. In extreme cases cardiac arrest is possible. Extreme caution is advised when athletes who are already substantially drained and dehydrated continue their loop diuretic treatment with a "make it or die atti-tude," or even continue the intake altogether with a completely reduced liquid intake.

Self BUMP for more criticism. Please be nice.

Ok. Lets go into judging mode:

Good points:

Back: 9/10
Chest: 9/10
Shoulders: 9/10

Bad points:

Quadriceps: 6/10
Glutes: 6/10
Hamstrings: 6/10

Your glute-hamstring tie-ins need work.(You probably
know this)

This is being STRICTLY from a bodybuilding stand-point
so nobody take offense.
To the average person, you look fantabolous without
a doubt.

Good job Latimer.

I appreciate your honesty Fonz. Thanks for the reply, and you were right, I already knew those were my weak points and am in the process of making them my stronger points for the next show.
