Lat pulldowns. To jerk or not to jerk, that is the question.

Whats are your guys opinions on this. What do yall think.

-Strict form, no moving.

Or

-Using a little momentum to get more weight for more reps.

Personally I feel I get a better back pump when I put a little english into em.

I prefer pullups - you really gotta work hard with those. You can use a little body movement to finish those last reps. I usually do pulldowns light with higher reps and good form. But that's just me :)
 
I just do chins but at the time when I did do pull downs I would do the first 6 to 8 reps strict and then throw in a lil english on just the last couple of reps.
 
Jerking on any row excercise is a nasty habit. I agree with Dave for the last rep or two. But too many guys use WAY too much weight and jerk they're way into thinking they're actually doing something for their lats. A pity really.
 
Sometimes at the end of the set if I want to do a little extra work I'll do some cheat reps, but I don't record those in my journal. In order for them to count, they have to be strict.
 
i use some momentuem on my pulldowns but for the power and the strengthenin of the lats...others may disagree. tb
 
I have always noticed that the guys with terrible lats are the ones who jerk the weight down.

Keep it strict!! When I perform these, I pull the bar down to the upper chest, while pushing out my allowing my lats to receive the stress. I also keep constant stress on the muscle. . never letting my arms fully extending at the top, until the end where I get a couple of full stretches.

Always remember. . sloppy form = sorry development

Sloppy form also increases the chance of injury.
