ANY GOOD?, and how should i take it? I retain a lot of water. should i take on regular basis or just for beach week?

thanks

your uncle,
paulie

I take 40mg a day split dose when holding water or sometimes 40mg in the am and 20 in the pm, but Im a big guy. The problem is that I know what Im doing because I work in medicine with this all the time. This can be a very dangerous drug so youll have to have medical advice when using it. It can be very safe under medical supervision, but if people start popping these like dbol tablets, then they can die and there is no coming back from that.

Only for short periods of time, before i know i'm going to the beach, pool etc. but if i drink adequate amounts of liquids and take my multi-v's, there shouldn't be any problems?

Lasix is one of the most frequently used medicines and has been around for many decades. Lasix stimulates kidneys to produce more urine, as a result it reduces the amount of free water in the body. Along with increase in urine volume, Lasix causes loss of Sodium and Potassium in the urine.

Lasix is used in following situations:

Fluid overload in the body such as in heart failure or kidney failure
To establish a constant urine flow to prevent potential kidney damage from Cisplatinum
Urgent treatment of Hypertension

Oral tablets of Lasix are used once or twice a day.

Side effects:

Lasix is a rather well tolerated medicine, however it is not free of side effects.

Dehydration due to excessive usage of Lasix
Lowering of blood Potassium levels, which may result in irregular heartbeat
Lowering of blood Sodium levels

Most also Take supplemental Potassium to overcome the side effects of Lasix.

IMHO i do think it still has its place and if used SENSIBLY good results can be achieved.

I agree with above, but caution that too much postassium can be equally dangerous. I feel uncomfrotable about commenting about this b/c simple problems can cause big problems with this. 40 mg/day split should be safe for the overwhelming majority of people, Ive taken 60 before with no problem, but Im 6'5 275lbs so I cant comment effectively on dose without your Body surface area. This is a potentially dangerous drug, but used safely by millions of people. SO the question is should you take this drug. With steroids they are a relatively safe drug, safer than aspirin or birth control pills, but there is little margin for error for loop diuretics, so just go to a doc for a blood test to see where you are at. Id hate to have you become a statistic from our advice.

I would rather use aldactone instead of lasix. Aldactone is a little milder, but 100 times more safe. It is potassium sparing so you will avoid the horrible muscle cramps from lasix. You can also take aldactone and not have to worry about being close to a bathroom. Lasix will truly make you piss for hours after you take it.
