Laser hair removel or electrolysis

If you have a large area (like chest/back), do laser. Electrolysis is more time consuming but the only method allowed to be called "permanent" by the FDA. I have done both. I am doing electrolysis for bikini and laser for everything else. Been doing both for years.

laser is every 8 weeks for how long I don't know, electrolysis is as soon as you can see hair again, probably as often as every 2 weeks

depends if you like looking like homer simpson or not...laser cause the skin to discolour

It most certainly does not cause skin discoloration. Unless you are tan. And you are not supposed to be tan to have this done. This works on people with light skin and dark, coarse hair best.

I'm having it done. I had electrolysis done before... it hurt and I had very very very minimal results. It wasn't worth it... and it caused a couple of tiny pit scars. As for the laser, it hurts.... kind of like a burn and a shock at the same time. The power they use on you will depend on your skin tone and such. The lighter your skin, the higher they can go.

I like it alot. I just got my second treatment. Not sure how it did yet, because its still red and puffy (you can't see how much hair is gone until what's left grows back), but after the first, I'd say about 10 to 15 percent of the hair was gone. It was noticeable.

excuse me? Ive been having this done for 6 years and it DOES cause discoloration in some people, ME included, I do not have a tan but am fairly dark skinned..

I know the darker your pigment is you'll have better results. I am a real blonde so my leg hair is blonde and laser reduced the hair but it kept growing back..I have never had skin discoloring but I am pretty fair

That's why I said unless you are tan. I also noted it's ideally for people with light skin. We could draw from both of those statements that unwanted results could occur in people who are darker skinned.
