Laptop help....messed up screen...

It depends if it got under the LCD, or whether it is on it.

Turn OFF the computer, wipe the screen off and let it dry.

Water spillage is the leading destroyer of laptops.

Let it dry off until tomorrow. If it still does the same thing, take it to a repair shop. They will replace the screen by ordering it from manufacturer, it shouldn't close you more than $150.

Thanks, but it is the cpu, not the screen that is causing it.

My little button mouse is also not functioing correctly. Hope fully it will work after it has dried out.

Similar thing happened to me and I actually had insurance. Fucking compaq claimed that the insurance didn't cover that part.

I didn't spill water on it but a bunch of lines came on it, so not sure how ...

Sorry bro, think you are screwed. :(

I accidently spilled a little water on my laptop and now the screen just has multicolored lines (both vertical and horizontal).

It seems that the water has shorted something, but what is it? Can it be repaired or did I just destrot my laptop?

You actually don't have an answer for something. I'm shocked. J/K

If he spilled the water on the screen, theoretically once it dries off he'll be fine.

If he spilled the water under the keyboard, if i was you i'd take out all the keys and let it dry. Try starting the computer several times when it dries off. That's why I hat laptops so much

You might be screwed. But Turn it off take apart the cover and dry off the components. Then pray!

use a blow dryer set on low heat to help aid in drying it out faster.

Ahhh... hell. Just borrow flexed1's. He has a damn collection of them.

Hairdryer. I know someone who spilt a drink on their laptop. She instantly turned it off, wiped it, and then dried it with a hairdryer... all worked fine after that. Just give it time and make sure it's 100% dry.

You're more than likely gonna have to take it into a shop if you want it functioning properly. This is why I hate laptops. You water on a desktop keyboard it's no big deal. You just buy a new one for $10. Spill water on a laptop and you are spending at least $100 to get things right.
