It came out 3.5 years ago, but I got for 50 cents so I bought it and decided to read it. Really talks about what he went through. The dude has amazing fortitude. Lance Armstrong = The Real Man of Steel

He talks about how Tour De France can be so grueling at times that when you are on the mountain stages the white snow on top of the mountains appears to be black. You are so tapped out that you are hallucinating. That's some freaky shit.

If you could go inside his chest cavity and get up close and personal with his heart you'd hear it singing loudly "One more rep! One more rep! Faster! Faster.! All heart! Heart and fire! One more rep! Ain't nuthin but a peanut!".

At least, that's what I envision.

he also talks about how important his teammates were and how he couldn't have won without them. in fact it's a tradition for the winner of the tour de france to give the winners check to all his teammates. one year not only did he give his teammates the $400,000 winners check, he also doubled the amount. alot of great rules of etiquette and sportsmanship in the tour de france that you don't see in other sports.

he also ties it into life in general. he talks about how much you need your family and friends.

I recommend you read 'It's Not About The Bike'. :) Excellent book.

He might not have the greatest personality, but he truly is an inspiration... IMO.

I just got this from the library today, and whoa it's a great book through page 27. I was stoked just reading about his childhook and progressing through various forms of endurance racing. :artist:

Even during the race the people are totally respectful. If the leader gets involved in a crash or goes down the people will actually stop and wait for him to get up and rejoin the pack out of respect.
