Ladies...I need your help please on a bipolar issue.

WHY do you want her on AAS? In all that, I see no reasons WHY she should take ANY AAS.

But regardless, I will second basically all the opinions....NO. It seems she doesn't have her condition under control or managed, so adding another substance, with UNKNOWN results can possibly make things worse. If not now while on, then later when her hormones stabilize (when coming off AAS).

Absolutely a no-no. Have you read that they are beginning to use Topiramate for bi-polar disorder? There are definitely no weight gain issues with Topiramate, in fact, she's almost guaranteed to LOSE weight on it, they are researching it to release it as a weight loss drug now. This is off your question, but I believe she needs some type of treatment for her disorder. I read your post, and your relationship is not in a good place....and it will only elevate into resentment for each other - and your right, your going to feed off of each others "attitude". You can't go on without a remedy in mind, and right now you don't have one. Have her talk to her doc about the Topiramate, or at least do some reading about it. How great would it be to have her mood stabilized, and lose weight too???

For someone who is bi-polar, I think the key thing is that they STAY on their prescribed meds to avoid the wide-swinging mood episodes. Bi-polar people can have a hard time with this because their medication often has unpleasant side-effects. In the manic phase, they feel so good they don't think they need medication, and in their depressive stage they can be so disabled they can't even function, or do things that endanger themselves or others.

I think introducing steroids into the mix is just asking for trouble, because steroids create slight mood swings on their own. Add that to a bi-polar condition, and the highs will be higher and the lows even lower, very scary and unpredictable, sort of like throwing gasoline on a fire.
