"He is SO high maintenance."

What does that mean exactly as it applies to a man??

Same as a woman?

That's easy. It's the same as with women. Your maintenance level is equal to the amount of effort others have to put forth in order be around you.

Ever been out and seen a High Maint. Couple ?
How they make it out anywhere is beyond me.
Must be a constant battle of wills.

Emotionally Low Maint. to me is a woman that can ride in the truck with me for an hour, and not have to say more than 3 sentences.

Physically low maintenance is a woman that can get ready to go out in less than 30 Min and still look HOT !

This reminds of me something. It seems that nearly every date I've been on, women think that it's a man's job to entertain them and be fascinating. You won't get much conversation out of me on a first date, I am real and it takes awhile to get to know me. Loose lipped people are usually the ones that turn out to be jerks and the ones that women go for because they are entertaining.. Just my observation.

on a side note - talked with a friend who went thry a divorce a year ago. He said the one thing that really made him feel worthless was that she never commented on his body..


He went from being basically out of shape to maintaining a 6% bf level year-round and has abs I would kill for......yet she never commented on his trasnformation..

that is sad.


I can relate to that idea...not with the body buy about feeling invisible....so, c'mon a little ego stroking is good both ways

as for high maintanance from a guys perspective it would have to be appeasing someone constantly, rather than being able to relax and not worry they are off in someone elses bed
 
Funny that most women would say they love a low maintenance guy, yet they are attracted to power, wealth and status etc which would suggest high maintenance.

Would i be correct in saying that women like an emotionally low maintenance guy with a high maintenance bank balance? Can you have both?

This just represents one of the many differences between men and women.

Men tend to sum up women by how they look, and by how they will make them look because of it and how much it's gonna cost them to keep them happy and keep them looking that way.

Women tend to sum up men by how reliable there are for them and how much they can support them both emotionally and monetarily.

All relationships vary and it would be silly to say that all relationship are like the above stated but if you had to break it down to cover a vast amount of people that would be it. (IMHO)

The man's money and how and whom it is spent on is more important him than the woman's money. While the woman's emotional needs and said needs being met are more important than the man's emotions or emotional needs.

Again - this does not represent all people it only represents the preconceived stereotypes of males and females.

That said, I'm under the belief that what is high maintenance to a man regarding a woman is how much he has to spend on her and what is high maintenance to a woman is how much hand holding and ego stroking she has to sacrifice from herself to give to him.

So I guess men and women are inherently selfish, just in different ways.
 
I always though I was low maintenance.......both emotionally and physically....maybe not though....
