Ladies I have a question..Luvtolift

I happen to know myself and other men who have been training for many years can eat normally and still stay at a pretty low bodyfat year around. I think it's due to speeding up our metabilizim from eating 6-7 meals a day for many years.

My question is my gf is asking me will she ever be able to eat normally again without gaining several lbs of fat and messing up all her hard work. By normally I mean regular carbs bread, pasta, rice and the rest of the goodies that are off limits while dieting. I am hoping that her metab will speed up after a few years and she can indulge with me in some goodies now and then but right now a couple slices of pizza or even some chips and dips and she pays for it for weeks trying to regain her hardness back. It is really bumming her out thinking she can never eat like a normal person again.L2L

if you go too low with carbs when cutting, you run the risk of blowing up like a balloon due to becoming carb sensitive when you go back to carbs-for this reason you should keep carbs around 100g a day for a man even when cutting

Does she rotate her carbs?? Personally i dont eat bread..when i eat carbs i eat good ones like oatmeal..sweet potatos..yada yada yada..Yes I splurge and eat pizza and stuff once in a while but not often enough to make a huge difference. Roating your high and low carb days is a good way to eat...you should take in low on days you do not train..or just doing cardio..and higher on days you train..the less you expend the less you need to take in...maybe having a cheat meal 1 time a week?? Its good to shock the body..eating low carbs all the time is not the best thing to do...she will hit a point where she will not get any leaner and she will probably become carb sensitive as well...you have to really play w/ your diet and try different things and see what works for her...Unless on stuff a woman if a lil older is not going to always..be hard 24-7.....its hard to be at a low bf and maintain for a long period of time..nor is it really healthy..

That is a question that only she will be able to figure out, it is different for each individual, some can get away with more than others. For women in general, I think is is more difficult for us to both lose fat and keep it off because of that evil hormone estrogen. You guys can get away with so much more, I envy you! It also depends on whether or not you are insulin resistant, someone who is insulin resistant is not going to be able to get away with a lot of cheating and will have to keep a pretty strict diet to stay lean. Here's an example for you, I talked to Jen Hendershott, IFBB fitness competitor, and she has a dietician write her diets for her and at the time, she was only eating 1/2 cup of oatmeal for carbs in a whole day! For her, I guess it is what she has to do to stay lean cause at the time I believe she was just maintaining! So your gf will have to experiment and figure that out for herself. One thing about bodybuilding, it's a very INDIVIDUAL sport. It does sound logical though about not going low carb for too long and becoming too carb sensitive. I've done the low carb thing, well, sort of, tried to stay around 60 grams a day for 3-4 days and I tell you what, by the third day I am going nuts, craving sugar and carbs so bad that I usually end up cheating. So I think around 100 grams of carbs sounds reasonable and should keep her from binging. But again, she will have to experiment and find what works for her. We can give you pointers all day long but it comes down to what works for each individual, everyone's body is different. Hope this helps. :)

Thanks alot Cheetarah for the help and all of the rest of the people. Like you said everyone is different and she has only been at this for 10 months so she has lots of time to learn what works for her. Happy Holidays L2L
