Lab Work

I went and saw my Doc yesterday to have my blood pressure checked and for some allergy problems. Found out my Blood Pressure is up and i have a sinus infection so my Doc put me on meds for both. My Blood Pressure has been borderline for the past few years and it runs in my faimly so im not surprised. My Doc has ordered some lab work and i wanted to know if there is anyone on the boards that can tell me what he is checking.

Lipid Profile (I know what this one is)
TSH (Thyroid ?)
Chem 13 (WTF is this one)

Anyone elighten me about these labs especially the Chem 13 whats he checking for anyway

I know TSH is Thyroid Stimulating Hormone

Chem13 is a Chem Screen. 13 different levels is checks for.

Calcium, Phosphorus, Magnesium to name a few

Chem 13 is probably just the labs name for a chem profile. It will have lots of different things in it from creatine to liver functions to glucose. Lots of labs have different names for them (mine has chem, super chem, and master chem).

It will check serum levels of normal electrolytes and cardiac enzymes.
