L.A. vs N.Y.

Dodgers vs. Yankees starts tonight.

I've been looking forward to this series all season. Although, now I'm a little disappointed with the pitchers L.A. has lined up against the Yankees this weekend.

Friday
Weaver vs. Vazques
It's going to be interesting to see how Weaver does aganist his old team. Kevin Brown was origianlly going to pitch for the Yankees, but (luckily) he's on the DL.

Sat.
Nomo Vs. Halsey
This one is a give away. Nomo, IMO, is done. Unless the Dodgers bring big bats to this game and can counter the 5 or 6 six runs that Nomo will give up in the first 3 innings, this one will most likely go to the Yankees.

Sun.
Lima vs. (I couldn't find who the Yanks are pitching)
This is probably the best pitcher that Dodgers have in this matchup. Lima is doing well right now and is coming off a couple of big wins. Hopefully Sunday will still be Lima time.

The Yankees have the best record in Baseball right now, the Dodgers are on top of the NL west, but it is a weak division this year, so it doesn't mean much. These two teams also sport the best closers in baseball, although the Dodgers have the best overall bullpen in baseball. If the Dodgers can take a lead into the 6th, the bullpen can take it into cruise control for a win.

I wish I could attend, but this series has been sold out since before the season started. I can just imagine the roudiness and violence that is going to ensue in the outfield pavillions.

Either way, it's going to be an exciting series.

Post up you pin striped bitches!

Go Dodger blue!!!

One of the many likely scenes in the pavillions this weekend

"Hey whatsa the matta with you, I'm trying to watch the game hea!"

"shut up vato!" <throws full soda cup at yankee fan>

go Rangers, Texas Rangers

Who. Oh yeah, that team the Reds just got done spanking. ;)

The power went out when the score was 3-0 and I thought "good, I don't want to keep watching Weaver get wooped." About 35 mins. later, the power came back, the score was 3-3 and I knew the Dodgers had a shot. Sawas, you got your wish and Gagne got his 80th consecutive save!

The Yankees have a Rookie going out on the mound tomorrow, so that might match up well against Nomo's recent 85 MPH fast ball.

i thought this was going to be about how the cities compare as places to live, or to visit.

from what I can tell I'd prefer NYC.

Jkurz, you ever been to Cooperstown (sports bar) in Cleveland?
Good ass place to watch a game, but there are a few others that put it to shame......come up and I'l take you to a game......

Actually I went to the LA/Tirbe series last year here. Good games....think you guys smoked us though................

Saturdays game
Yankees 6
Dodgers 2

As expected, Nomo gave out runs early to put the Dodgers down for the game. What wasn't expected is how well he pitched after the first inning (although a little too late) and how well Brad Halsey pitched for the Yankees in his major league debut.

Matsui's homerun off of Nomo in the first inning, which gave the Yankees a 4-0 lead, was a total fluke. You can tell he was totally fooled on the pitch, but he was somehow able to make contact, even with an awkward swing. My brother, who was at the game and sat close to where that ball landed, said the fan that cought it reached over the fence and it should not have been called a homer, but the ump abviously called it a homer, so oh well.

Todays rubber game
LA- Lima 5-2 (3.67)
vs
NY- Contreras 4-2 (6.20)

I was in Cleveland last year, during the World Series. I was driving around looking for a place to eat and watch the game and I saw "Cooperstown" and thought it was a baseball joint. It turned out to a sports bar, owned by Alice Cooper, which was pretty cool. Good looking waitresses there too.

The Browns had lost that day though, so the whole town was in a pretty somber mood.

I also took pics in front of Jacobs field.

Great f-ing game...........Thank you Dave Roberts (Tribe has-been)...........

Anyone playing the Yankees is always my 2nd favorite team..............
