Know what I hate ......BULKING! And a general update.

For some bulking is great. For me it sucks ass. Most people I would guess bulk on 4000-5000 calories. This is a lot I admitt. Now think of this, my last contest diet I was on 7000 calories a day the first ....ohhhh five weeks and dropped like 1.5% not a remarkable drop but remakable that I dropped at all. Try to eat 7000 calories of clean food a day. Its pure hell. My breakfast was; 1 pound beef, 1.5 cups cottage cheese, 1.5 cups uncooked oats (thats 4.5 cups cooked!) all at 6am! So the problem is to bulk i have to eat a ton! 8000 almost right now. Killin me!!! I drink a protien drink as a beverage at every meal and the drink is 600 calories alone! and thats the small ones! Well I am just venting here as I choke down a drink! It seems Fina speeds my metabolism up a lot. I was going to start HGH last week but in leans me out and i am in the 6% range now. I would like to get a little fatter for joint / tendon protection. Something like mid 7.5% at 250# would be nice...even 8%. Well thats my plan anyway. Start HGH on monday anyway. Inclined 365 for 7 this week so upper body strength is about 100%. Leg is doing well. Squated 325 for 6 reps...not astounding I know but shit it was 45# for 6 reps 12 weeks ago. Leg pressed 9 plates per side for 8 reps. Leg is still behind but coming up nicly really. Swells like hell when it rains though. ( I thought that was bullshit...its not) Really shitty thing; :( My Vastus Lateralius is going to be higher than my right leg I am about 100% sure ( thats the quadsweep muscle...Ironic huh!) I can hide it by stance change but I hate a flaw like this. I was lucky with the bicep rupture, it looks normal. At least its not a pec tear, Thats the worst.

that must suck to be able eat that much and still be leaning out.......wait....wait....that doesn't suck! It really is unbelievable how much someone at your level takes in everyday. So does this mean you actually like cutting better? Anyways you look great so keep at it.

To a point yes I like cutting better. Untill I hit the wall that is and if you have ever done a contest diet all the way down and I mean shreeded ripped you will know what I mean. But yes this is a lot of food an fucking protein powder.

How long do you anticipate to get to 240-250 range and at what BF%. How many pro. grms. per day now? On a side note what the most cals you've heard of a top level competitor taking in daily?

I hope 8-10 weeks I do about 500grams a day. I have heard 10000...that would be horrible!

When I first started lifting in my mid 30s I weighed 128lbs soaking wet with rocks in my pockets. I read Arnolds Encyclopedia and started lifting and eating. I ate 8000kcals/day clean and lifted 6 days a week with one of his beginner routines. After 2 years I was 187lbs and 8% bodyfat. It was the most work I'd ever done. Not the lifting, but the damn eating!!! People thought I had a tape worm, I was eating all day long.
 
I need to be you for about 3 months. I can gain weight on 3,000-3,500 cals a day easy. What really sucks is that i'm back in a real gym for the first time in about 7 years and I'm only about 50% of my previous strength levels.
 
How long does it take you to eat breakfast quad? I start eating at 5am and dont finish till quarter to 6. I usually eat 12-15 eggwhites, 2 cups uncooked oatmeal, and some tuna. I could imagine that if I ate your breakfast, I wouldn't be done until 6:30!
 
shit, i gain weight at 3000. hell i maintain at 2000. less even.

eating that much just sounds ugly...damn...i dont even want to think about how many times you go to hte bathroom..

I'm always amazed by how many of you manage to tear your biceps, pecs, quads.....etc.

So long as you warm up and do a warm up set, there's no reason why your muscles should tear like that.

405# undergrip bent row and I could do that for 15 reps...POP...and I did 5 warm ups! No warning either..be safe.

Shit! On bulking cycles I have to not only take my Protein/carb shakes but it has to be highly glycemic. And I have to drink a weight gainer shake with each solid meal I eat just to blow up! And........i have to use slin too. ;-)
 
Poor Quad is well over 200lbs and well under 10%BF. And has to eat 7000cal a day. Boo hoo!. Seriuously though, that's what seperates you from 99% of the rest of the guys out there. The maticulous (sp?) dedication that has you where you're at. I hope the leg keeps getting better and better. Stay healthy my friend. Good luck to you beefing up (even more). I hope it all pays off for you next time around for the show(s).
 
man that sucks, have you tried the healthy oil route though?? I found it a big help when the shits went away...LOL
 
its the lifestyle we chose and the lifestyle we learn to love, i cant even say how many workout partners i have had and they quit on me. Only the rtuly dedicated will progress and you are 1 of em,,good luck on your goals
 
take many scoops of Ener-G day

I guarantee you will need to eat less

each huge table spoon has 35 grams of Protien, and plenty of glutamine for glycogen storage and recovery form sorness

wait till it flavored though wich wil be soon :)

ya bro Im there to and I still feel like shit eating over 3k cals if there is any kind of heat

Try this, Quad:
Throw in a can of coconut milk into your protein shakes (or better yet replace some of the water with it). That's an extra 580 calories instantly, and it won't give you the shits. A lot of guys are scared of coconut because it's saturated, but it actually seems to help me burn fat. It's good for the ticker and immune system too.
