Knot at injection site!

I just stuck myself tonight and had my first ever injection problem. I've injected at least 75 times before. I did 2 ccs of test enanthate and when I pulled out I was bleeding much worse than I ever have before. Then within 5 seconds of pullling the needle out I noticed a knot formed. It is about half the diameter of a dime and is hard. It's kind of blue/gray color. It doesn't hurt too much though. Any ideas what went wrong? I confess, I did not aspirate (that's difficult when giving yourself a glute injection).

You hit a blood vessel or a very vascular muscle. The knot is the blood accumulating, confirmed with the black and blue. Ice it for pain control, use heat after 3 or 4 days to help soften and dissolve the blood clot.
