Knee problems.... Can you help me?

stretch

New member
Ok guys, I seem to have hurt my knee in some way. I don't know how. I know it's hard to make a diagnosis over the net and not very many of us on here are doctors, but maybe you can help me a little. I can walk fine. My knee only hurts when I begin to squat down or if I'm sitting down and try to extend it. The pain comes from just below my knee cap on my right leg. It's kind of wierd because I can walk and everything looks and feels normal.

Thanks,
stretch

my guess would be you tore some cartilege. and it is floating or a flap a cartilege that is what I have and it acts the same way. go to the doctor

peace

cartilege does not heal on its own after surgery there are a few things you can do to help it rebuild but nothing great

Stretch- it could be that your cartildige of ligaments that are connected to you patella are loose. Before you squat do some leg extensions and see if when your quads are tighten before if it will tighten and keep you patella higher on you leg and where it is supposed to be. Also Vitamin C for ligaments. You may have strained other parts of your knee, and Vitamin C is good for ligaments. If all else fails consult your doctor and get an MRI. It could be your medial miniscus and that requires surgery.

I am not a doctor but after multiple knee sugeries you learn these things!

If it gets bad enough you may have to get it scoped. My doc that I had for a work comp case sent me to phys therapy for 3 weeks first to see if that helped. Then after that didn't work, he sent me to get an mri and found torn meniscus(cartilage) Doc shaved the part off that was torn but to this day it still hurts like a bitch on the first set of squats. You learn to just deal with the pain. It sounds like it's not that bad if it doesn't hurt when you walk. I would go see a doc and you may want to lay off the heavy squats for a while too.

Thanks guys for the help! I'll definitely try your suggestions and take your feedback into consideration.

Strech bro , I get that sometimes after I kick your ass in B-ball , if you diden't fall on it or twist , pull or any thing like that just keep doing alot of free air extensions to keep it loose.
come down to the coast Sunday and squat with me , I'll stay light , just to 450 or so . LoL
It should just be something in a little bind causing pain
any swelling ?

Dude, you know what? I think that's when I messed it up. It was that day we were playing basketball at the gym.

That will do it , I've had both my knees scoped for severe hyperextensions and my right one was opened by my dashboard I tore some cartilage then and had some work done.
Jumping and running will cause this sometimes , just to much stress on the joint. Does it hurt all the time or just when now and then , when mine does it , it will hurt for a few days when I squat down then it goes away.
just hold your nuts in your left hand and punch them with the right , your knee won't bother you any after that.
Trust Dr. Deepsquat :FRlol:
