Knee Injury

Singleton

New member
Second BJJ class.

My friend wants to try his own stuff. I say no, I want to get basics down right first. He ended up not listening to me.

I don't know what the fuck he did, but my right knee is on the inner part, just below the knee, inside the joint, very painful at the wrong angle.

I am not going to the doctor. No insurance.

What is wrong with my knee? Any guess?

Did he kneebar you or heel hook you to cause the injury? How did it happen? Is there noticeable swelling and/or bruising? How is your range of motion?

Your friend is an asshole for doingthat to you. I am serious when I say this...Do not train with him. He is a BAD training partner. He is selfish and you will continue to get hurt if you train with him. When you train, you have to get rid of all ego and selfishness. When you are training with a partner, your goal is to make your partner better. Not to abuse somebody else for your ego's sake.

BJJ is a serious martial art that can result in serious injury (as you now know) if it is not taken seriously. All of the joint locks can cause permanent damage if applied to hard. This is nothing to mess around with.

Sorry about the rant, but I'm MMA instructor and I have seen/heard of people getting hurt like this, and it makes me mad.

As far as your knee. It could be an MCL, but it is hard to tell without seeing you. MCL's usually heal themselves, but they take time. YOu need to lay off of training (legs)for a little bit (2 weeks) then try to ease back into things...take it slow. Ice your knee after activity. Lateral movement may be the thing that hurts the most. As time goes on continue to strength train so thatthe muscles around your knree are strong and can provide support.

PM me if I can help anymore
