Last night my buddy and I were just hanging around having a few beers and jumping on my trampoline, well he goes inside and I tooka break and laid down on the trampoline to rest and he came and jumped on my fucking leg and my knee bent outwards(like left knee going sideways left almost bowed) and I have had sharp pains ever sense in the inside portion of my leg and I get super sharp pain in and around the knee cap when I walk.

anybody know what may have happened and if its serious? I really dont want to sit out this rugby season because of this shit

thanks guys

Search on google for Collateral ligament

Running down the inside and outside of both knees.
The Dr will check how much it moves and then if needed an MRI to see if its strained or torn.

Usually heal on their own is the good news without surgery..

I dont remember, the springs on my tramopline were fairly loud at the same time he landed on me but I have never been in so bad pain in my life

i would go straight to an orthopedist. Tearing you ACL/MCL/PCL is pretty easy and could be what happened to you. No one on this board will know for sure.

probably a good idea,I was just hoping somebody had some input. if I did tear a Collateral ligament how long will I be out of rugby?

Yeah, you'd be able to walk. If you tore something I think you'd know you tore it. You might just have hyper-extended it! Go to a good Dr. Get x-rays, and you'll know what's wrong as soon as they are developed!!

If you just tore your ACL, surgery is not neccessary. But if you want to return to rugby you will need the surgery for sure. If you get the right surgeon and physical therapy you could be back in 6 months to a year depending on how fast your body heals and how much effort you put in. I had ACL surgery 1 and a half years ago and was back playing softball in 5 months at about 75 percent. Football took me about 9 months.

Either way, go see an orthopedist. They can usually tell without an MRI if its torn (either draining blood or testing the knee). However, they will most probably do an MRI. When i first hurt my knee, i was able to walk around and the hospital i went to, said my knee was fine (bunch of moron interns!). So just because you arent in lots of pain and can walk, doesnt mean you are fine. But i do hope you didnt tear your ACL, cause rehab is a bitch.

nobody video taped it and it really wasnt a mishap,he jumped from off of it onto me laying down.

thanks for the help guys I am going to make a appointment this week ,but I am also going to try rugby practice tomorrow night I think, which is probably stupid but percocets and a knee brace are my best friend

I'd say heat the fuck outta that knee, even whirlpool it if you can before practice!!! Sniff the fucking perc's too, hit you in 5 minutes!! Good luck and don't make to many cuts to your left side, word?

thanks for the tip man, I dont get the ball much as a forward so I shouldnt get tackled, atleast I fucking hope I dont

I will certainly be heating it for hours on end for the next few days

turned out level 1 mcl injury doc says if I am going to play that I should support it with a soft brace and take painkillers to keep swelling down,he doesnt reccomend I play but thats life

thanks fo the help guys green to all who posted

he will get his real good one day but I want to humiliate his ass infront of many people so I dont mind taking longer to plan it
