If I am correct, a type of shrimp. Here in the US usually prawns are considered very large shrimp but in other countries they are actually different than the "regular" type of shrimp. (I think)

prawns generally are a crustean very similiar to shrimp
but with claws
looks like a miniture lobster with sweeter meat
king prawns are huge
generally 4 to a pound once you take the heads off

love head on shrimp/prawns too bad they are hard to find
but i find em in chinatown
go figure
