Im thinking about switching majors to Kinesiology, what do yall think? I'm very interested in health and fitness, but what kind of jobs will this give me besides school coach?

Just about every personal trainer or strength coach position asks for an exercise related degree along with some certifications. You could also do rehab type work.

It might be best to consider graduate school or an advanced degree to open more opportunities.

Noticed your from Lafayette. I grew up in Charenton, about 45 minutes south of you.

The college I go to doesnt have a graduate degree in kinsiology they got something called Excersize Science instead. It's a degree they only offer in the south so I dont think it's worth much

My master's degree is actually in exercise science from La Tech. The graduate degree would definately allow you to specialize and broaden your job opportunities. Where do you go to school?

monroe but I might transfer to LSU. They have graduate degrees in kinesiology.

Do you find the excersize fitness degree to be usefull? I might consider it, be a butt load of work though

It truely depends on your goals. For me, it was helpful in preparing me for the next step. I'm pursuing a PhD in Human Performance at Southern Miss.

Prior to thinking about the PhD, I was considering becoming a strength coach. It would have been definately been useful and a must in that career.

I'm thinking about something along the lines of personal trainer or excersize assisting. Maybe even rehab. I def don't want to be a school coach but I wouldnt mind working one on one with people or small groups

Then I'd say a graduate degree would put you one step ahead of the competition.
