Kimber deals??

I have still yet to pick up that Kimber for my wife. She wants the Kimber Custom II stainless. Anyone know of any good deals around on these? They dropped in price a while back, but any money I can save would be great. There were going for ~$1100 about 8 months ago and then suddenly dropped to ~$770 or so depending on the shop. We have had a rash of gang-related shootings in our near vacinity lately, so my old lady is getting anxious to get her piece.

750$ sounds fair. That's what I see around. Btw be sure to read the manual cuz Kimbers can only work (or at least the warranty will only be valid) with a few selct ammo...ask the Denver PD, they had to withdraw all their Kimbers recently...

Really? I read a bunch of reviews on them and they seemed to be pretty solid. Most said they would take a Kimber over a Colt any day of the week. She likes that 1911 style frame and loves the feel. That's why I was planning on the Kimber.

Kimber pistols are great. It<s just that if you<re worried with the warranty you should make sure to use the right ammo. I believe Denver PD was issuing 200gr while Kimbers feed better with 230gr (which is why someone would carry a .45 over anything else).

Kimber just recommends the use of of jacketed ammo in ntheir pistols. The warranty issue has to do with wadcutters and all-lead ammo because of the excessive leading they can cause which could lead to malfunctions.
I feed my Pro CDP all kinds of FMJ 230 gr. and have had no problems whatsoever.
$750.00 is a good price for them.

Has she looked at the Springfield Armoory's Loaded models. They are series 1 and more dependable than series 2 stuff IMO(I think the Kimber is a series II?)
