Kill Bill vol.1: Thoughts?

Burning_Inside

I rented this movie with 0 expectations.

And I liked it. Reason being, it was just different, and directed quite well.

If I could direct a film with a huge budget it'd beat out Tarantino's however, i'm sure of it. he may be crazy and artistic, but I think I have him beat slightly.

i thought it was awesome - great exaggeration of old kung fu movies. i have to go out and see vol. 2 soon.

it already dropped to #3 this weekend. The main demographic for movies these days are the teenage hispanic, asian and black crowds. Kill Bill just doesn't register well with this segment hence why those movies only wind up grossing like $80 mill or something embarassing to that effect.

My uncle asked me yesteday if i saw kll bill cause it was sitting on the kitchen table..he was like omg i turned that movie off 10 minutes after i started it, it was so stupid.

then he mentioned fight club and he said how stupid that was also.

I swear I'm adopted. Like my family can't find plasure in anything that's not simplified and cookie cutter. God forbid you have to maybe think sometimes or digest a movie presented in a somewhat alternative directing fashion.

The large second to last fight scene was painfully long - I found myself wandering around the house to tidy up becasue I was bored.

The large amount of blood was corny and yet somehow it still worked in the movie.

It screamed, I am a Tarantino movie!

Just for kicks, Tarantino owns the "pussy wagon".

it was alright... entertaining to watch for sure, but not a cinematic masterpiece by any means... I will watch the second one too, just to see how it ends, I don't know that I would go out of my way to see it again in the future tho...

haven't seen the movie personally, but had a friend tell this lovely part to me :)

trust me u will be fine, nothing happens. If anyone has issues watching certain things on film, it's me. i am overly empathetic to movie characters and for this reason i cant smoke up some reefer and watch any kind of serious movie or i freak myself out more so than if i was sober. This is because when i was like 5 or so my uncle would babysit me and pretty much make me watch those faces of death movies.

I thought it was great corniness mixed with some truly unique images and camera angles

Uma needed stunt toes though

I liked it. Even though it seemed like Tarintino tried too hard to make it look like it was a Tarintino film.

It also appears that Tarintino has some sort of foot fetish. There are a lot of foot and feet shots. Plus they go into detail about foot massages in Pulp Fiction.

YES YES YES on everything you said.

But since we're all sitting here talking about it...

So you have a foot fetish as well? I'm guessing no. I hypothesize that men are only into feet (there are always exceptions though). Guys seem have more non-mainstream fetishes than women.

I just kinda like everything on a chick from the ass down.

Not including toenail fungus or anything like that.

or ass hair .
or hair anywhere below the waist.

Not really embarrasing--Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 combined cost about 60 million dollars to make. Kill Bill Vol 1 has grossed about 180 million worldwide (about 60 million in the US) and Vol 2 is looking like it will do about the same. So MiraMax and everyone else involved has already profited on the films and the studio will greenlight any Tarantino film for about the next 10 years whether it is garbage or not because of Kill Bill's success.

I thought it was alright. The first one really dragged on at times I thought. The two together were pretty good. Better than most movies that hollywood has been producing the past few years, but that doesn't make it great. Just reflects how much garbage is usually hitting theaters the past year or so. I usually like anything original though.

gogo had an ugly nose. Which in turn made her ugly.

yeah, her nose was a bit funky, but the school girl outfit and her fighting skill made her hot.

I'd hit it

I'd hit Uma too, I just wouldn't look at her toes.
