Kids

I'm looking for anyone who knows anything concerning the genetic effects of taking steroids. I read at a Panvera site that endrogenous testosterone influences the function of androgen receptors (duh) WHICH influence certain hereditary traits. I appreciate any feedback whatsoever about this, especially from those who have kids and used test before conception and may notice certain features (physical, psychological, mental, emotional, etc.) their kids display that may seem unusual, considering their heritage.
My biological father juiced for a while, at least eight years, before conception and was curious what effect, if any, that may have had on me.

Thanx

From Anabolics 2000, page 13, Section on Steriod Side Defects -

Birth Defects:
Anabolic/androgenic steroids can have a very pronounced impact on the development of an unborn fetus. Adrenal Genital Syndrome in particular is a very disturbing occurrence, in which a female fetus can develop male-like reproductive organs. Women who are, or plan to become pregnant soon, should never consider the use of anabolic steroids. it would also be the best advice to stay away from these drugs completely for a number of months prior to attempting the conception of a child, so as to ensure the mother has a normal hormonal chemistry. Although anabolic/androgenic steroids can reduce sperm count and male fertility, they are not linked to birth defects when taken by someone fathering a child.

So if you're a chick who wants to be a mom soon, don't juice. Guys, juice away....

were you thinking you'd juice then copulate then have a kid that was dorianesque without even working out....

that would be pretty cool though.

back in da day

My father was Taking dianabol and or anavar at the time cause anyways after my sister was born they thought they couldnt have anymore kids? he has me
and oh yeah he got remarried and had another kid lol but does that mean im a dianabol baby lol......
I was a stocky lil kid.

Sassy69, thanx...so essentially, steroid usage significantly affects hereditary effects if the mother takes it, not the father??
Also, if a man takes steroids, and his natural test levels drop, would it be possible that he passes that on to his kids through hereditary.??
Thanx

No to both. It is isn't hereditary for men or women. If a woman takes roids while she is pregnant, certain hormones get upregulated and some get downregulated as a result. This doesn't influence the genes per se, rather it influences the fetus and hormonal regulation of its development. These changes are changes in transcription levels of proteins, they don't directly influence the chromosomes (size, order, etc). This also applies to the second question--the guy can not pass on this effect to his kids.

I've read that a teen being given Test while going through puberty will be graced in the endowment department. I don't think anyone would complain about an extra few inches ;)

My father took nolvadex and cyponate when he knocked my mom up at 18 look at what im looking at.

This is for all the older bodybuilders...

I looked through some of my dad's business shit and found a letter including some of the stuff he was taking. What the hell is Maxibolin. It came out in 1971. In the letter, he swears by it's effects.
