Can you be in ketosis and still put weight on? Or does ketosis mean that if you are in it, you will only maintain or lose weight?

Been in ketosis for 3 days now and haven't lost any weight yet. Been eating tons of cheese and beef so maybe I'm eating too much?
 
make sure you dont eat hiden carb
1 whole egg = .6 carb
1 white egg = .3 carb

many chesse contain carb ,,, count the carb in chess and egg
dont eat more than 20 carb per day

if all this step dont work try to add this supplemnt to your diet
Chormium 800 mcg
L-Carnitine
add Glutamin if you carving for suger

I would assume that you have to have some kind of a calorie deficit...you can't just stuff your face with bacon and eggs all day...at least that's how I've been doing it, I've consumed at the most 1400 calories in a day...I'll let the experts at it, is it necessary?
 
CUT your calories by 500 and see what happends, the worst thing about a keto is when your not losing weight even when your on ketosis, its fustrating as hell!!

Take ALA at high doses, and don't eat some carbs but not a lot...you'll still be in ketosis burning lots of fat, and you'll be able to put on muscle......when you eat 0 carbs you can't add muscle, only can maintain...ALA is the best legal supplement out there.
 
I use ISOPURE ultra low carb protein powder, it says it contains ALA but I can't seem to figure out how much it contains per scoop. Should I still buy the pills or stick with the protein powder?
 
The simple answer you need to hear is yes you can still gain fat by being in ketosis. If you couldn't then every bodybuilder would have adopted a high calorie ketogenic diet to pack on muscle without worry of fat gain. Regardless what type of diet you are on if you consume more calories then you burn you gain weight. If you burn more calories then you consume then you lose weight. Ketones are irrelevant in this regard. Incase you may ask the next question on your mind, yes you can still lose fat without being in ketosis. Man has been doing it for years.
 
Think---
Did you lose any weight at all since dropping carbs? Usually in the first 3 days people drop 5 - 10 lbs from water and glycogen.
 
First 3 days I lost nothing, woke up this morning and I'm down 5 pounds from day before yesterday so I'm pretty happy about that.
