Keeping Blood Sugar Up

Rabid_Goose

I was wondering what is a healthy way to maintain my blood sugar up during the day? I had this problem when I originally started dieting but added stuff I shouldn't have to keep me running.

Now I've been getting headaches from drinking too much water and being run down to all hell from low blood sugar, I eat nothng but complex carbs for the most part and was wondering if I could add in Gatorade to three of my meals, 8ounces each meal.

My diet will be up tomorrow, I was trying to find a healthy way to do it by avoiding fruit.

Have you checked your blood sugar? Your headaches may not be related. If you are drinking large amounts of water, I wonder if you are experiencing hyponatremia (low sodium), which can give you headaches when mildly low and confusion/seizures when severely low.

Many people who think they have hypoglycemic headaches turn out to have fasting fingerstick glucose checks in the range of 80-100 mg/dL. It is rare to be symptomatic at those levels. Usually headaches do not develop until glucose levels reach 60 mg/dL. When it gets below 60 mg/dL, people usually experience confusion leading to unconsciousness.

It may be sodium for my head aches. Anyway to keep my sodium levels up?
Don't drink enormous amounts of water or supplement your diet with plenty of salt if you aren't getting enough in your diet.
