Karma doesn't make any sense

hey guys gotta question. this karma thing doesnt make any sense to me. i see some people with few posts and alot of karma. other times i see guys with alot of posts and they seem real intelligent and yet they have little karma. even guys that are brand new with like 2 posts i see have alot of karma. how is this?? i think this is the only thing on the board i dont like. i feel only the mods should give karma as noone obviously takes it seriously. hehe just to let everyone know though, i am a good karma giver. other than that part of the board this place is the best!!! but how bout a change with this whole karma thing?

The people you're talking about are what I like to refer to as karma whores. They get all that karma on the chat board where there are threads set up so all the whores can pat each other on the back.

see thats exactly what im talking about. it makes no sense whatsoever. who agrees that mods should be the only ones to give it or just get rid of karma entirely? its pretty stupid i feel. this is not meant to flame the board as i love this board and have been reading it for a bit before before i joined but its not fair at all. mods any ideas???

SHHUGE i agree with you totally but it is really not worth losing any sleep over IMO.

This board is about learning and sharing information and not who has the most green lights iunder their name.

i think genarr3 summed it up well and so would not worry about it (i am sure you are not) but just pone of those things.

IMO, Karma is BS. It has lost its real purpose. We now have bunch of guys who do not contribute anything to the board and have dozens of those stupid green dots under their name. It is not important for me if they keep it or not, but it makes a false impression to the new comers. They think these guys with lots of Karma are Gods or something.

f it. the only reason you'd need to be concered anyway is if you had negative karma. otherwise it doesn't really matter. i dont think anyone judges how much knowledge one has by the number of green dots under one's handle... if they do... they're f'n idiots anyway....

agreed. but whatever, if you answer intellingently with scientific views that make sense over time people will see that you know your stuff and will take what you have said more seriously than those that have alot of karma and barely know anything but the basics, if that.
