did anyone besides me think that his performance was ridiculously tight.. tight as in good..

Thanks for clarifying.

I saw the very end of it. Not a big rap guy here, but I have liked most of what I have heard of his stuff.

guy produces some decent beats but should leave it at that, he can't flow for shit. that being said, he is perfect for radio.

and who would you say can flow for shit..

sage francis
wu (gza writes the best out of all of them)
mr. lif

to name a few. to each his own - I enjoy rap/hip-hop mostly for the lyrics. to me, Kanye is a little too cliche as the "angry black man" and when he tries to get all deep it falls short of meaningful. once again, IMO.

lif is real good just got into him

Wu is awesome..

i dont think ive heard any sage francis so i might have to check that out?

he's a white dude, into the whole spoken word thing, but has some GREAT beats and real good lyrics. one of my favorites. him and Atmosphere.

i heard just a lil of them

i know atmosphere more because they are local, lol
slug went to HS with an old room mate

i dont like Jesus Walks though.. i wish he would ahve busted out Family Business or maybe even Never Let Me Down and bring Jayz up for a duet

Actually the only rapper that can flow these days is Li'l Jon. There is no one in the game today that can get so much mileage out of so few words.

Kayne is overhyped if you ask me. Sure, he sell units cause of his mtv exposure, but that don't mean his flow is tight. 1,000 underground spitters got much better rythmes than him.

I don't like any of the dudes on the ROC label, except for Beanie. The rest are cheezy rap cliches...

Out of all the mainstream rappers out there (that most people have heard on this board) Slim Shady flows better than all of 'em. There may be others, but nobody's ever heard of 'em. I'm not saying he's the best, but he can really break one off when he wants to.

some of you people dont know what lyricist are.. to say gza and lil jon are better than kanye west is just attrocious..

find a line by one of those two garbage ass rappers that tops this from one of kanye's songs..

mayonaise color benz, i push miracle whips;

It's just that em's albums have never been that good, in my eyes.

jay z is the best rapper of all time by far.. when his dvd comes out watch it and watch how all these producers and shit are astonished how he can do everything in one take from fucking memory the guy is a fucking amazing lyrical genius..

lmao, c'mon man. if that is your idea of lyrics, then obviously you just want to listen to the same old bullshit about cars, money and chicks. which is fine. not me though.

Injustice, intelligentcube like never
Watch a mega watt bang spot, raise the lever
Its operation cobra, its over
Control the globe slowly, the bold soldier

I agree that he is sick. Most of his radio shit sucks, but his other shit is real good and he can flow off the dome like none other. He was on Hot 97 lastnight freestyling and he was SICK.

I agree to some extent. He is the type of guy that you listen to, and after you hear him pull off a really unlikely rhyme, you just go........How'd he do that?

that might sound cool coming out of gza's deep ass voice.. but it makes no sense.. i used to be a huge wu fan but their shit got old when i turned like 13.. raekwon and ghost have the most skills via wu..

Lil' Jon may be talented behind the boards, but he can't rap with a rat's rectum.

I think it's the opposite. His voice sucks but his writing is solid. Go listen to their double album and tell me it means shit. How can you possibly rag on another rapper for not having meaningful lyrics when you just quoted a lyric about a fucking car! Take away cars, money, bling and chicks related lyrics and 99% of the shit you are talking about is gone.

most underrated rapper in the game: Ghostface

All his albums from Cuban Lynx to Tony Starks are sick. He deserves
Jigga-esque props...

I didn't see it, but I don't really like the guy....

I listened to all rap all the time for the first...15 years of my life. But now, the only rap I listen to is Eminem, Fifty Cent, Obie Trice, and Outkast. I generally like rappers who aren't tryin to be serious all the time, and who are unorthodox in some way. You can say something unique about all the rappers I just mentioned... not so with the newer ones

dude the sentence is phat because of the complexity of it..

mayonaise colored benz .. i drive miracle whips..

relate mayonaise to miracle whip.. and also relate the color to how phat the car is.. gza shit isnt complex at all one or two syllable words that sound alike kanye's shit has alot of hidden meanings which is why he is phat.. as well as jayz..

favorite jay z line = i sell sell ice in the winter i sell fire in hell.. i am a hustler baby i sell water to the well..

and i've listened to the wu tang forever album like 60 times.. i have every wu album produced all the way till gza's second album.. right around the time they turned to repetitive garbage..

If you ask me Jigga over does it with hustler bit...nas said it best in a freestyle "how the fuck you a hustla with no priors?"

ya i agree about that.. but all hip hop artists have their own little idiosyncrasies.. jay z's are noticed because he has like 9 multiplat wonderfully produced and written albums.. all rappers are repetitive.. if you are writing rhymes for 9 years you are bound to write about the same shit alot..

jay z line to nas

I came in ya Bentley back seat, skied in ya jeep / left condoms on ya baby seat...and since you infatuated with saying that gay shit / yes, you was kissin' my dick when you was kissin that bitch, nasty shit"

here's the thing dude, other than Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint, I don't thing his albums are that hot, actually, they kinda suck...

Now that I think about it, all singers are somewhat repetetive....it just depends on what you like.

Rap = bitches and ho's
Today's rock = hating parents and breaking up with GF
old rock = love
etc

thats your own opinion i can listen to the entire black album all the way through.. and i dont think an album besides maybe eminems - eminem show .. or nas illmatic is even close to the greatness of it..

kanye west is superb, to say he can't flow is wrong imo, it is a bit of a radio song, but 'through the wire' is supoib

do you listen to underground hip hop/rap at all? imo, one can't truly judge someone's ability to "flow" if they haven't listened to underground, at least a few times. Radio songs are radio songs because people that listen to the radio want to hear catchy words and fun beats that they can sing and dance to. Underground is underground cause it's more about the meaning and skill, as opposed to making catchy tunes. That's how I see it, in general. Not saying all radio people have no skill, but for the most part, EVERY song is about money, cars, girls, and the rapper talking about how great he is. Granted, Kanye tries to take a little different approach and talk about other things, but it is still kind of fake and not very deep/meaningful. i.e. rapping about a girl that is materialistic. WOW - how contemporary of him, he's really got his hand on the pulse of society. But he still throws out a lot of the typical shit that all these other fake ass dipshits throw out there.
