It is always a good idea to call and pre-cert you benifits with your insurance company. It can save you time and hassles if you're not covered for certain procedures/tests. There are many insurance companies that will not cover HRT or certain prescriptions, such as viagra, etc. If you know your insurance will not cover HRt screening in advance and have a good relationship with your provider, he may use a similar CPT code for billing purposes that your insurance will cover.
