Went to see this movie with Hannibal tonight.

Man, what a fucking downer!

I knew it was a serious movie going in, but there were no light moments, the entire thing was set in wintertime, and it just got more and more heavy as the movie went on.

Well-acted, and the "accents" didn't bother me, but jeez...what a way to kill a good mood on a Saturday night.

I met a guy that was an extra in that movie.
it was filmed in canada.
he said one of his friends got paid more ($40/hr CAN) because he was one of the guys that "showed his ass"

it was filmed in the summer, but it is set in the winter, so they had to be all bundled up and it was really hot out and they had to be running up and down the sub and shit.

My personal take...it was an excellent FILM. Well acted...and I am guessing that it was extremely historically accurate. So for what it was it was GREAT!

Having said that...would I pay to watch it again...hell no. It kind of reminded me of Schindlers List...historical film...well acted...well directed...just not "enjoyable".

I was lsitento a radio show where they had an American sub anayalyts on, he was talking about the K19 incident, and he told the story, but then went into the after affects on the men who worked on the core. I guess from all the radiation they were exposed to, that they didn't last very long, like three or four days. However, the radiation caused them to "cook" from the inside out, enlarging their internal organs, eventually sufficating them. What a way to go,fuck.
