just bought a ps2 and my network adapater isn't working

its running from my ps2 into the router... does anyone know if u have a firewall setup, do u need to open any ports for the ps2 to work over the internet?

yea that was my next step.. i figured i would save time and ask if there were any ports that needed to be opened before i got my ass up out of the chair.

first things first, turn off the firewall and see if it works. if it works, then you know it's the firewall. if it still doesn't work then you might have a physical problem with the equipment or cable.

probably in the time that it takes for someone to answer your question you could have tried my advice. or better yet you can do a google search for firewall stuff and ps2's.
