They already did this in New York. They also banned smoking in bars and clubs. You also can't smoke in door ways here, either. You have to be a certain distance away from the buildings.

I am all for it. Why should my longs get polluted because someone choses to smoke. Second hand smoke kills.

When we went to Paris in November everyone smoked, everywhere. It was disgusting. I could hardly eat. I can't stand the smell. It makes me sick.

Most rest. you Could smoke at the Bar area.

Now, you cannot.

I don't smoke, but I think you should be allowed to in a club or bar. That's just part of the atmosphere/lifestyle.

What I cannot stand is someone right next to me light one up and the smoke just seems to blow right to my face. I call it to his/her attention and they move it away, but after a few seconds it's right back where it was...blowing directly in my face.

Restuarants, stores, etc. I can see banning that crap. I'm glad.

Exactly. Took the words right out of my mouth. I don't smoke anymore so this law doesn't effect me, however all this government control does!

The govmt of Florida did not create/decide on this amendment, the people of Florida voted on it after petition, and it was approved overwhelmingly by the people.

The govmt is only enforcing the will of the people.

I voted for it although even though I smoke. I've quit several times and have a very hard time staying off because I like it so much. During the times I've quit, it was really hard to not smoke when I was in a place that someone else was smoking. It's the hardest thing I've ever tried to accomplish, and someday I'll do it, but it's like a damn herroine addiction with me. Even when I had quit for a year when I was pregnant, I always wanted to smoke. Wish the gov't. would just make the damn things illegal.

We now have the same laws in P.E.I. since june 1st.
For anyone working in clubs it is a welcomed law.
The Bars can have a smoking room for smokers that is seperate from the rest of the public.

I heard if the business declares themselves a private institution or something like that, they can allow it. I'm not sur eif this is correct though.

The city is giving a 2 month "grace' period where people will not yet be given fines.
