Joint supplements

Hey all, this isnt for me but for my mom, she's gettin on up there in years and is having some joint problems. I thought I'd ask all of the knowledgable people here what they have found to be the best supplement to help out the joints. Thanks in advance for your replies.

glucosamine/chondroitin ... used in people and dogs, LOL!!

Nutramax is the best brand to buy. It really contains what the label says ... this from a pharmacologist I attended a lecture by whose research is checking out these things.

It definitely helps my knee pain.

MSM methyl sulfonyl methane
Glucosamine
chondroitin

ElastiJoint by Labrada. It's a powder, you just mix it with water. It doesn't taste that great but it works great.
Here's the breakdown for you:
1 scoop(12g): 5grams hydrolyzed gelatin(collagen)
2 grams MSM
1.5grams Glucosamine Sulfate
1.2grams Chondroitin Sulfate

Awesome product!

Hydrolized gelatin does wonders for my tendonitis when it flares up. I've been using it since I saw a study years ago where supplementing gelatin helped arthritic patients, the researchers hypothesis was it helped the body re-build the tissue.

How about Max Muscles Joint Releif? Anybody triedit? I have some, but it supposedly takes 3 weeks to get in the system and take effect..

Is this available at GNC or where? I would love to give this a try.

how old is your mom? has she been diagnosed with arthritis?? IF it is so far along that there is no cartilage, none of these suggestions will do any good. If there's still cartilage, there is still hope.

Sup -

I just picked up something from CVS. Called Move Free.

It includes:
100 mg sodium
1.5 g glucosamine
1.2 g chondrotin sulfate
1.5g MSM

$31 for a months supply.

MSM has helped me tremendously...and the thing I like about it is that you notice the effects in about 3 days...... I take 3000mg in the morning and 3000 mg in the evening for the first week..then 1500 in the morning and 1500 at night after..

what's up with the dosages of this stuff

i take chondroitin/glucosamine mix, no MSM since there's no real pain, 4000mg

is this stuff like... take on your own accord, as much as you want?

hmm, gelatin - that's a novel approach - eat some sugar free jell-o I suppose.
I suggest fish oil - it has been shown to improve elasticity and soothe inflammation (duh!) among numerous other benefits!
