John Stossel's New Show is Good

Conservative or liberal, a lot of his arguments are irrefutable.

he speaks like a Mo

I agree. He struck me as a whiny bitch at first, but he makes entirely too much sense.

I don't even agree with him across the board, but he does his homework.

Whats it about?

He does a news show that highlights specific themes -- I'm watching one on energy independence. It's from a libertarian point of view so he's skeptical of anyone who is running-around with their hand-out wanting a gubment subsidy.

He's been pretty tough with the Picken's plan regarding natural gas powered-cars. Now he's about to jump on high-speed rail.

i bet everyone thinks hes a " conservative meanie" though

He's moved to Fox News, hence he must be pure conservative evil.

I really identify with the libertarian view actually. If they would build firewalls where someone's freedom wasn't subsidized by someone else's money, I'd be a die-hard libertarian.

Oh hell. He just quoted Adam Smith. I'm sold.

If you read Smith's original works on economics, you're left with the impression that this guy is really sharp. Then he'll refer to something as "the recent troubles in the colonies" and realize this guy figured this stuff out over 230 years ago. He figured this out over 40 years before we figured-out how to generate electricity. That's vision.

He's a solid Libertarian bro...I haven't watched his show on Fox but he has been one of my favorite correspondents for as long as I can remember....from childhood..he's that old.

I've always liked Stossel. He doesn't care if the target is a liberal or conservative. If someone is wrong he goes after them. I need to check out his show.

Tonight's Food Police episode was great too.

I enjoyed being lectured about eating good food by a fat, out-of-shape lawyer who sues companies over offering food he deems to be unhealthy. He needs to be billed a fat tax -- perhaps we could use it to subsidize a gym membership for him.

Stossel struggles in the opinion news format. He has done great journalism at times with exposes.

Stupid in America is one of my favorites...

We're seven minutes into this week's episode and I can already tell it's a great show.

They've got a protectionist guy trying to argue we should build a trade wall around the US.

and probably argue for more unionization to give better wages to workers. Unfortunately, both have negative economic impacts but they are populist red meat.

He was showing how even though the economy is so bad, most of the trends are positive. Some environmentalist tried to give government the credit and I loved the guy from the Enterprise Institute's response. He pointed-out that most improvements came directly from industry, then politicians saw the parade coming down the street and jumped in front of it.

I caught half of his "things are getting better show"...pretty good.

Everyone should watch his education episode. It's incredibly good.

Did you go to public high school? and do you know Chip Ezell from Vandy?

I went to an unbelievably bad public high school in North Knoxville. I majored in Basketball, Football, Wiminz, Quaaludes and Booze.

My first year at Vandy was hell. I eventually caught-up, but it wasn't pretty.

I'm not sure who Chip Ezell is though. I was a total engineering/physics nerd and pretty much disappeared from the undergrads (except classes, of course) after my freshman year.

His anti-FDA show is fantastic too.

But Montel Williams (guest) saying: "The US government owns the patent on marijuana" was so dumb it makes my head hurt.
