LOL cut the man some slack for fucks sake!he had an enormous drug habit that he was trying to kick,and was probably jonesing his fucking ass off at the time.

that is however one thing Ben E. King,didn't have.

Lennon's post-Beatles output was spotty at best. And his "Rock & Roll" album of cover songs was a contractual obligation album.

He did some decent stuff around 1969-1971, after that it was pretty hit-and-miss, mostly miss.

Lennon and McCartney needed each other as partners, rivals, inspirations, and critics, to do their best work. Apart, surrounded by yes-men, their output was not so good.
